This guy goes on Fox News and gets retweeted by the president. This is now mainstream GOP behavior. It's just so great. The idea that the average liberal is going to get upset by this is so dumb, but I think the better part is the guy using a Christian holiday to "own" and "trigger" other people. How very Christian of you.

Trump is going to win again because his base cares about made up culture wars and owning the libs more than they care about anything else.

I don't know anyone triggered by "Merry Christmas." I must be lucky because I heard it is very common.

My parents used to get triggered by it. The worse was when we were at church on Christmas Eve and my mom would yell at the pastor about making the sermon all aboit Jesus.

But they moved to Venezuela once Trump was elected so it's not as bad anymore.

Here is a media member that is apparently triggered by the phrase and thinks the saying is a 'right-wing' talking point. Interesting.

SC justices shouldn't be going on pundit political talk shows, schlepping 2-3 month old book sales.
It's truly beneath the behavior of the Court.

Cannot recall another SC justice on any talk shows, unless they're being interviewed about their biography (e.g. RBG), and that's not "political".

HAHAHAH. RBG had an hour long town hall meeting on CNN. What are you talking about? This CNN analyst must be your relative or something.

Who cares? Sotomayor was on the Daily Show three month ago and that is just as partisan if not more than Fox and Friends. Save the outrage for other things my man.
None of them should be on talk shows, IMO.

They don’t let cameras in the SC courtroom but they’ll go on television. Seems inconsistent to me.

I saw this video posted in another thread yesterday. What stood out to me more was the reaction of the Fox host who, after Gorsuch wished her Merry Christmas, said, "I love that you say that." Totally unecessary and weird, from an objective standpoint.
So, from now on, I'm going to add that to my response whenever someone wishes me Merry Christmas just to see their reaction.

Maybe call them a true american patriot and thank them for their service.

Merry Christmas.

Oops, I just triggered myself.

This is so in line with Jesus's teachings. He should be proud.

The best way to restore public faith in government institutions is to “send Hillary to prison and to say Merry Christmas“, according to Hollywood icon Morgan Freeman, who warns that unless the former First Lady’s crimes are seen to be punished, “everyday Americans will forever know, deep down, that there is one law for those with money and power, and another for the rest of us.”

“Hillary should be in jail for her unlawful deeds and President Trump should absolutely, absolutely make sure this happens to send the very strong message that no-one, and I mean no-one, is above the law in the United States of America,” Morgan Freeman said in New York while promoting National Geographic’s new docu-series The Story of Us.

The whole war on Christmas thing has got to be quite honestly the dumbest thing cons have ever bought into.

The reason it's so dumb is that this "war on Christmas" stuff started at least 10 years ago if not more when I was in my 20's and I remember as a kid that happy holidays and merry Christmas was used interchangeably. And I can not be the only person that remembers that. But Bill O'Reilly gets on TV and convinces a large portion of the population that a phrase that they had been hearing their entire lives and not been bothered by is some sort of secret attack on Christmas.

Most of the rest of Conservative's dumb things they have bought into are defied and shown to be false by simple education, doing a little reading. But with this you don't even need a freaking education, you just need to have a semi-clear memory of the past.

Deplorable.

To those younger posters out there, there was a time when a single instance of a member of staff or cabinet member involved in a scandal was a death penalty to a administration. Now, it is business as usual with this crime ridden administration.

It is now at least 7 advisors and close associates that have been sentenced to prison terms and more awaiting sentencing and are under investigation. How can the right justify this? This is the supposed to be the President of the United States. Not a crime boss.

I can summarize/contextualize the tweet in the OP in two words: Era of Projection.

Nailed it.
