My Predictions:
1. Maryland
With Timble and Layman returning and Stone coming in, this is where they probably start, but probably won't finish.
2. Wisconsin (If Dekker & Hayes stay)
Dekker shouldn't stay if he knows what's good for him. Then, be realistic. WI doesn't have another Kaminsky or Dekker in the wings. Frank is the best player in WI history who came out of nowhere. That doesn't happen very often. WI lost to Rutgers without Frank- Rutgers. They drop to 5th without Dekker and lower without Hayes.
3. Michigan St
This could be right. If Nairn becomes a consistent PG, they could win it all.
4. Michigan (If LeVert stays)
Could be right if Le Vert stays.
5. Purdue
It's all on the big guys here. They will be in this area of the standings.
6. Iowa
Their ceiling is higher than this. But will they reach it?
7. Ohio St
Their ceiling is much higher than this. But they are without Craft, Scott, or Russell at PG for the first time since before Fran was coach at Iowa. They have to come up big there or they are middle of the pack with a lot of upside as the season rolls along. But I have to feel like they are due a failure at PG.
8. Indiana
A possible guy leaving that hasn't been discussed is Yogi Ferrell. If he left, yeah, I'd pick IN here. With him, and the new center Byrant they picked up, their ceiling is higher.
9. Illinois
If they finish this low, Groce is gone. But if IN finishes 8, Crean is gone too. Both are possible.
10. Northwestern
This is a team that I think will finish higher. They've got a nice core with nearly everyone returning. They could be a bubble team.
11. Minnesota
They could finish even lower than this.
12. Nebraska
A lot of IFs here because they are depending on frosh a lot. If Petteway leaves, yeah they're here. If they frosh play like vets, they're a bubble team.
13. Penn St
They could finish higher. I like Chambers.
14. Rutgers
Spot on.
Should be a very competitive league with many of the teams in the middle of the pack being very even.
