AAU 2025

Seems recent MBB transfer Cam Manyawu has a sister named Destiny (forward) who is a 27 recruit with offers from Nebraska, KState, & Iowa St to name a few . Plays AAU for Mokan who also has 27 6'6 post Harper Dunn who has an Iowa offer.

She attended an Iowa BB camp in 23, Jan and Abby are both following her.

Since she is so close to Ia. City I'm certain JJ and staff are aware of her. Has her stock risen recently? Is she similar to L Fandel?
They’re definitely aware of her. I’d say she’s been a steady riser. IMHO, Iowa has their eyes on higher rated recruits, but I think died be a great pick up for any team.

I remember seeing a post last year saying Jan went to watch her play.

One of her coaches posts on another board (I imagine many know who I am talking about), He said she is off to a terrific start on the AAU circuit and that Iowa is still in contact with her.

What takes place on an official visit that hasn't transpired in these visits? I mean, Ragone was on campus, with her parents unless I have it confused. What more can take place? I honestly want to know.

Official visit is pretty much all expenses paid, Unofficial visits all expenses are on the recruit and their family’s dime. I would imagine an official visit also entails more personal time with staff and potential teammates.

Against the rules to do photoshoots on unofficial visits as of March '24. Just checked.

What do you consider a photoshoot? What does the NCAA consider a photoshoot?

It's obvious this was done after March '24 during last football season in Oct '24. They did it on their own dime. Meaning it was unofficial.

Check out all the photos here. She is taking them with the coaches. I think we would consider that a photoshoot, right?

What is the difference between an official visit and an unofficial visit?

  • An official visit is any visit to a college or university campus by you and your parents that is paid for by the college. Click here for more information on official visits.

I'm just asking questions. I don't see a big difference between the official/unofficial for various players. Does it really matter if there is no distinct difference?

Haven't really delved into too much. This is all it says on NCAA.org. I thought there were more rules on dos and don'ts myself.

The only other rule I recall is I thought you could only take one official visit and only a coaching change could you take another official visit to that college. However, in a google search it stated, "Official visits are limited in number, though the NCAA has recently waived the limit on official visits."

So in a sense, what you're seeing with your own eyes is all the NCAA says on it. In a nutshell, it basically comes down to who pays for it. Although, there are just a few nuances that comes with it.

What is an official visit?

An official visit is any visit to a college or university campus by you and your parents that is paid for by the college. The college or university may pay all or some of the following expenses:
Division I
  • Transportation costs to and from the college (including coach-class airfare) for the prospect and up to two additional family members.
  • Reasonable expenses for meals, lodging, entertainment ($60 per day) and complimentary admissions to a home athletics contest for you and up to four additional family members in the locale of the member school.

What is an unofficial visit?

An unofficial visit is any visit by you and your parents to a college campus paid for by you or your parents. The only expense you may receive from the college is three complimentary admissions (for Division I) or five complimentary admissions (for Division II) to a home athletics contest. You may make as many unofficial visits as you like and may take those visits at any time. The only time you cannot talk with a coach during an unofficial visit is during a dead period.

Thanks for looking it up. So, it seems like it doesn't really matter, or at least that there aren't a lot of rules that would prohibit similar experience.
