Yes. Cuba is a small nation that poses no threat to the US. We've tried one foreign policy against Cuba since 1959, why not try something different? Remember all the controversy about opening relations with Vietnam? We now enjoy good relations with Vietnam, we trade with them, and they are moving closer to the US to balance off Chinese aggression in the region.
Opening relations with Cuba will allow US corporations to make money. It will be one more neat place for Iowans to visit during the Winter months, and opening relations will cause their government to moderate faster than what we've been doing since 1959. Eventually pounding your head against a wall has to be recognized as an unproductive foreign policy.
