I hardly ever watch ISU because I cant get excited by them and this game is the same, no defense, both sides tackling and covering is a big part of the game
Eyes has an answer for that. If you try to implement an offense, it interferes with D's practice schedule. Why can’t we have both?
A good offense and defense
But my gawd…these defenses are awful. It has been forever that Iowa has had a QB as good as either one of the 2 in this game.
Honestly when I see these teams where the secondary just bumps into a guy with no attempt to wrap, I wonder why the head coach doesn’t pop a cap in the back of the defensive coordinators head.Tackling is optional.
Getting capped is a bit harsh, but...Honestly when I see these teams where the secondary just bumps into a guy with no attempt to wrap, I wonder why the head coach doesn’t pop a cap in the back of the defensive coordinators head.
I think the pop tart mascot could score against isu.I hardly ever watch ISU because I cant get excited by them and this game is the same, no defense, both sides tackling and covering is a big part of the game
Complete mischaracterizationEyes has an answer for that. If you try to implement an offense, it interferes with D's practice schedule.
That damn Miami has talent every where! Their O-line is a complete “Jackel and Hyde” outfit..Really good most of the time and then absolute dumb shits at other time! If they had any consistency, they win the NC! But zero discipline kills them.I think the pop tart mascot could score against isu.
That was a serious knock on ISU.Love it that the bowl game announcers just mentioned the tap water in Ames, and suggested viewers Google it, alluding to the infamous City of Ames promo music video
Hooray for Ames
It's unbelievable how triggered some of you get by anyone who doesn't go along with your bullshit narratives. They literally lose the ability to comprehend what they read.Post 19 from What If thread.

AGAIN, if you trace back what led to post #19 in the "What if" thread, my response in that post was clearly specific to Iowa installing a spread offense.
Our interaction in this thread clearly can be traced back to the mention of Iowa having both a good offense and defense. So to reference a post about spread in this thread, that is not about spread, sets you up for mischaracterization.
Furthermore, later in the thread you referrenced, I spoke of how having a better offense (that wasn't spread) will be beneficial to the whole operation in the long run, but there are growing pains along the way when a new offense gets established. So you've mischaracterized my overall thoughts expressed in that thread
There's no beaches. Not sexy. Our coach says so.That's not Hawkeye football.
Might want to take a look at the amount of points our defense has given up against ranked teams before claiming we would do anything different.I hardly ever watch ISU because I cant get excited by them and this game is the same, no defense, both sides tackling and covering is a big part of the game
Totally forgot they got bailed out late in multiple games this year, they should have been an 8-win team. That Miami team was carried all year by the ACC officials. Thankfully those frauds didn’t make the playoffs. ACC is terrible.
Yeah probably 8-5 in bad ACC.Totally forgot they got bailed out late in multiple games this year, they should have been an 8-win team.
I love “a” defense.
Why can’t we have both?
A good offense and defense
Sometimes it has more to do with the quality of the offense that you're facing than the quality of your defense. Iowa scored 19 points against that defense. In today's college game you have to be able to score points regardless of the defense you're facing. This is something that too many Iowa fans don't understand. This year's B1G championship game featured the number 4 and number 10 defenses in the country. Final score 45-37. Good offenses score on good defenses. Iowa can't.I hardly ever watch ISU because I cant get excited by them and this game is the same, no defense, both sides tackling and covering is a big part of the game
But just not the Iowa defense against MSU.I hardly ever watch ISU because I cant get excited by them and this game is the same, no defense, both sides tackling and covering is a big part of the game
Iowa would have scored a few points because Miami has a bad defense, but you're right. Final score would have probably been something like 40-24 and everyone would have complained that the defense let the team down.I’m not sure how Iowa’s defense would’ve held that Miami offense in the first half when Cam Ward was playing. Iowa would have to go into a shootout and this team isn’t built for that.
Miami has more offensive firepower than tOSU with Ward at QB.I’m not sure how Iowa’s defense would’ve held that Miami offense in the first half when Cam Ward was playing. Iowa would have to go into a shootout and this team isn’t built for that.
Their tackling looked like the Hawks against Mich. ST.Tackling is optional.
