Rico, who made the treaty/deal directly and only with the Taliban which said the US would leave Afghan by a rough timeline? Who did that? Your butt buddy Trump. We needed to get out of Afghan after 20 years. The Afghan war was won in 3 months in 2001 but the Bush2 admin screwed it up (look up Taliban wanting to lay down their weapons and surrender in 2001) , they screwed it up cause we could have had a peace team in Afghan with no fighting while we looked for Bin Laden.

Looking back, the exit was hastily done and the Biden admin should have sent a small amount of troops to Bagram Air Base and that is where the flights heading out of Afghan should have taken off from. The troops could have secured those flights and entry to the base. And we should have left a force with control of Bagram as a base for our projection of peace in the area.

LOL - The agreement was to withdraw not drop everything and run under the cover of darkness. Secondly the agreement to withdraw had certain commitments from the other side which were never met so the agreement was actually never in force.

Biden had the opportunity to revise or to make the agreement null and void however he decided to turn it into a complete surrender.
