Ah...Memories...

His win over #6 Blaise Butler of Virginia the same year he beat Brunson was quite representative of his style at its best, too. I was actually more impressed by that win than by the win over Brunson, as I think Butler was quite a bit better than Brunson. Butler was a great talent, and Alex just kept plugging, wore him down, and took it to him in the 3rd. Vintage Alex Meyer.

It's no mistake that he won 6 in a row on the back side last year to make the podium. Kid can really scrap and nobody's gas tank can match his. If he's sharp in the 1st period and the match is even going into the 2nd, my money's on him. Just has to avoid the slow start. If he's on his game at Nationals, he could surprise. Frustratingly, he's also potentially susceptible to losing to lesser opponents and missing the podium. Hope he hits his stride in March and finishes strong. He has it in him, no doubt.

Back to a time when Alex Meyer was aggressive...although, this was the 3rd period and he was down so that really was his MO?

Well first of all, thanks for posting the cool Meyer vid. That was fun.

But that led me to watching the M Perry J Hendricks match for the 22nd time :)
I hate Okie State and I really don't care for J Smith, but that was fun. At least the last 45 seconds or so!!

Ps: like him or not Hendricks was a beast when he wanted to be
