Nice story on him. The Kentucky beat writer calls him a secret weapon.

Kentucky beat Toledo 38-24 in their season-opener. UK quarterback Terry Wilson had 19 completions for the game and 3 went to Ahmad.

The 6-foot-5, 237-pound former Iowa Hawkeyes basketball player picked up where he left off at the end of last season and drew two more pass interference calls from defenders. Wagner also caught the first three passes of his Kentucky career.

I guess they’re are calling him Ahmad “Flagner”.. lol! I guess his becoming quite the nightmare matchup for DB’s and drawing all kinds of PI flags.. hence the name Ahmad Flagner.

Loved the kid. Sad to see him not playing football at Iowa. He's going to the NFL.

In fairness to the coaches we did have the two best tight ends in the country on the roster and they were both underclassmen when AW transferred.

Like to seem running those TE routes this year.

I knew a guy from Ahmad's HS (his kids HS) and he always said AW was a better footballer than BBaller.

He’s playing WR at Kentucky, a saw a bit of their game, I didn’t see him play TE at all. They throw it up on the outside and have him go get it.. absolutely using to their advantage what he can already do & it seems to be working out well. I’m sure they are working with him on his blocking but thats not keeping him off the field, like it most liking would at Iowa, gotta think that might have helped him make his choice on where he was going to go..

This is why he won't make it in the NFL. At Iowa he would block and catch at an elite level. Out jumping people works for a bit, but eventually the competition catches up. I wish him the best though.

This is why he will make it to the NFL, blocking is a trained skill that can be learned as he goes. He is able to show case his play making ability right now by being on the field so the next level can see him NOW. I wish him the best as well..

Scott Dochterman's infatuation with Wagner is sad and creepy.

He has claimed that Wager would have had to sit out a year if went to a school other than Iowa and that Wagner only played football as a senior.

He was amazingly incorrect on both statements and continues to obsess over Wager.

Here is a preview of tomorrow's matchup between Kentucky and Florida. At 5:02 it shows the TD catch by Ahmad from Sawyer Smith. Looking forward to this game on ESPN at 6PM.

Been away most of the day, but I brought the box score on the game and Ahmad has 3 catches for 70 yards and a TD. Good stuff. $th quarter and Kentucky is up 21-10 with 12:46 left in the game.

Ahmad is having one heck of a year already. Nine catches for 198 yards and 2 TDs. That's 22 yard per catch. Not too shabby!

Looking like he could have made an impact for the Hawks this year.... At least he is playing for a Hawkeye, in Mark Stoops. I'll take that.

Once a Hawk, always a Hawk!

He may not have gotten any TD's last season, but he basically won the Missouri game for us. With time running out he drew a PI call in the end zone, that gave us one untimed play which we threw it to TE CJ Conrad for a TD.
