Ahron Ulis announcing his decision tomorrow

So when a recruit does an official visit, do mom, dad and siblings tag along during the entire visit?

247 and Rivals both show Iowa as his only major conference offer. We really should be able to get him if the coaches were legitimately interested (which they should be since they offered).

It's still early, but would like to get the first one on the board. Uhlis looks like a good ball player.

The last name Ulis still gives me ptsd.. Are we sure Calipari isn’t sniffing him out yet?

Correct. The NCAA allows the school to pay for the parents/guardians to accompany them on the visit, but not siblings.

I would be interested in your assessment and comparison of Ulis and Joe T in terms of what you see as their strengths and weaknesses...differences etc. if you would be interested in posting that from what you have seen of them.

Not Legend, but Ulis is taller.

Judged purely from highlight reels (so grain of salt included) it looks like Ulis lacks the quickness of JT but is more physical. A few shots of him finishing through contact.

Shooting looks to be a weakness for Ulis. Shot 25% from 3-land last year which isn't very good.

Ahrons highlight reel from 2weeks ago peach jam or something like that makes him look a little more quicker then the reels from a year ago imo. Surprised people aren't talking about Toussaint's even lower shooting percentages granted he is quite quick to help make up for it. Someone did also point out Ahrons 80%FT which shows promise.

Sounds like he has good size, adequate athleticism, good skill and good intangibles. His 80% free throw rate indicates he can shoot but just needs to drill that element of his game. Fortunately there are many examples of kids improving their shooting with dedicated practice.

Not for his own recruiting but as of now Iowa is his only high major offer. I think it's almost a lock.

Just seems odd that a kid would commit without even visiting during his own recruitment, especially when he isn’t that far away.

I can’t say whether he visited or not but I can tell you that kids visit all the time and the visits are unreported.

This exactly......Tom reports that he came along when his brother visited (more than once) and in all likelihood he has done an unofficial visit. They have probably planned his official.....IF he is committing to the Hawks.
