It's unfortunate when you have a 6'5" connor M. on the floor and he doesn't drive to the hoop or get to the line much. Well shit, he hardly shoots either. It hurts the team.Connor should have had about 7 assists to 0 turnovers if players were hitting wide open shots he was feeding them. He played his game offensively last night, though his defense was meh. I also wish he would look to go up strong on the drive more frequently than settling for those fadeaways he takes when he gets caught under the hoop
edit: since it appeared Fran was set on not putting Toussaint in until we needed his defense at the end, I too wish Fran would have given Ulis a look instead of riding with Bohannon the entire second half
He’s great at passing players open, but when said players can’t hit those open shots, his effect on the floor is basically nullified. He’s athletic/strong enough that he should be able to get better looks at the rim than he doesIt's unfortunate when you have a 6'5" connor M. on the floor and he doesn't drive to the hoop or get to the line much. One of the most one-dimensional players I've ever seen.

Honestly I feel Ulis isn’t getting any calls from the refs! He has driven in the lane only to get blocked EVERY time! Not sure they are all that clean?????
That might have actually been the worst no call all seasonHe got bodied horrendously going into the lane tonight and no call.

The kid deserves more playing time but not as long as Connor is on the roster. Hopefully Connor will spend his senior year concentrating on baseball next year.
Not true he wasn’t vertical and there was contact for six consecutive steps before he got to JohnsonThat was a good no call. Johnson was straight up and Ulis initiated contact.

At 9:09 you tell me who makes contact then who sticks a hip out as he’s under control then who doesn’t stay vertical and swats down and smokes him.. you’re wrong here and it’s not even closeThat was a good no call. Johnson was straight up and Ulis initiated contact.
Post the video and defense your position. Its atrociousWatch it again, you're mistaken. Fran and the bench didn't even complain.
Sherman didn’t get up and complain? Want to pull the tape?Watch it again, you're mistaken. Fran and the bench didn't even complain.

Answer the questions. Who initiatives contact at 9:09? Who sticks a hip out on the drive? I’ll take your point on being relatively straight up even though I disagree and then that swat down at the end!? And again.. Sherman was pissedNot sure how to post the replay from YTTV. I just watched it again. Good no call. Ulis went into a shot blocker who stood his ground, you aren't going to get that call.
It doesn't matter if he practices his shot or not, when he's on the floor he doesn't look to shoot unless he's going for a layup. Fran has the cuffs on him and probably the same for Perkins. Neither one looks to shoot even if their open.
Don't want to make Connor look bad...

His handles were weak tonight. The frosh all seem to be less then solid with the ball in their hands. We’ve been spoiled by decent turnover efforts and J Bo joined the turnover team tonight. They’ll get better with time, but they scare me against a Huggins type defense.
That might have actually been the worst no call all season
I missed most of the first half but Ahron did not play well tonight in what I saw of him. There was no display of good handles. He was shaky, almost travelled once and then attempted that layup against the guy 6 inches taller. Ahron and Tony basically look like true freshmen who make some good plays and some not so good plays. I don't know if Tony will ever be much of a scorer but he looks like linebacker and he's willing to play some bulldog defense.
Tony will be a 15 ppg scorer by his junior year
Brilliant...You must be a Illni fan. Do you ask for your point guards not to shoot? It doesn't matter if he practices his shot or not, when he's on the floor he doesn't look to shoot unless he's going for a layup. Genuinely curious. Why do you think that? Hasn't shown a great shot. Some ability to get to the lane but his handles will need to improve if he's going to do be a great driver.
And believe me, I hope you're right.

I thought the run across the baseline was a travel when I first saw it, too, but I watched a replay later and it wasn't.Let's not forget the Illinois run across the baseline.

I watched it multiple times and in slow motion....not sure how it’s not traveling. Can you define the travel rule that would allow the two steps (minimum) with the second step/foot leaving the floor while the ball was still in his hand? I tried reading the rules and viewing the video.... but don’t claim to know what I’m talking about.I thought the run across the baseline was a travel when I first saw it, too, but I watched a replay later and it wasn't.
Did you watch Peter Jok's freshman year?
