Ahsoka

Wow I have never seen a show jump the shark this fast.

Just watched episode 3 and they already jumped the shark twice in one episode.
Shocking!

Don't know how to put in the spoilers box so look away if you have not watched.

The fighting and destruction of space fighters with a light saber in space and the "space whales"

It is just a little over the top for me.
It's called straining credulity of, not for, the uninitiated...................

That's what you're experiencing and why you don't like what you see.

Sorry, but deal with it.

Did you watch Rebels? Those space whales are hugely relevant to the story and were a literal goosebumps moment for me.

I'll give you the fighting in space but at least she had a helmet and suit. When she went to go out I thought for sure it was going to be another thing like Leia in the Last Jedi. Plus, she looked pretty hot in that suit. Lol

Oddly enough, she actually looked more like Ahsoka in that suit and helmet.

The space whales are from the Rebels cartoon. They are bizarre but played a significant role in the end of that show which is tied directly this show.

I loved it. What do you think were the jump the shark parts?
It was a very short episode but I thought it took a step forward in the series. The action was great. I like how Wren is not like Rey and is having a difficult time catching on with everything.

The only complaint I have for the series is the new norm of surviving lightsaber stabbings.

I get the light saber battle in space, but the space whales was straight out of Rebels with Ezra. While I admit it doesn't work as well as it did in animation, I enjoyed the tie in.

Episode 4 was fantastic!

Spoiler:

We got to see Anakin talk to Snips. Loved it!

I’m 99% there. Holding out hope they do X-men right. Also, Andor was great. I highly recommend it. Mandalorian and Obi Wan lost me. Ashoka seems like it won’t be my cup of tea. But holy hell was Andor awesome.
I love the Mandalorian. Boba Fett was disappointing could have just left him as a great cameo in the Mandalorian series. I'm a huge Rebels fan, so Ahsoka has been great for me and my son and I agree that Andor is the best of the bunch. I can't wait for S2, then I plan on watching Rogue One again!

Personally, I think the Marvel TV shows have been the disappointing ones:
  1. Wanda Vision was by far the best
  2. Falcon & Winter Soldier was very disjointed and I just don't think Sam can fill Capt's shoes.
  3. Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel? I didn't even finish those.
  4. Hawkeye was pretty good, but not great.
  5. SheHulk only got good when Dare Devil showed up, otherwise it was meh.
  6. Loki was pretty good, mostly due to Tom Hiddleston turning in another great performance.
  7. I liked Secret Wars, but it just wasn't necessary.

Falcon I’d like to see the unedited version - it felt disjointed because it was. My understanding is that there was a subplot around a pandemic/virus that they cut because of the pandemic.

I actually liked Ms Marvel, mostly liked but didn’t love moon knight.

Kinda feel like Secret Wars and Kenobi would have both been better as movies; and ironically I think Eternals would have worked better as a limited series.

I watched Andor again. Man it is just boring. I don't understand why it's so liked. I think it might be just because the sequels were such crap people just wanted anything else.

Ahsoka has been excellent imo. Those flashbacks to the clone wars was some of the best Star wars ever.

The snobby snobs wanted a show that they could call "adult Star Wars", meaning lots of big speeches and underlying themes that they can sit around on their podcasts and overanalyze and debate about.

Meanwhile, with these other shows and movies it's like:

'This is a hamburger.'

Podcasters: "..........Yeah, but what does it mean?"

Solid finale. I guess they'll be recasting Baylan Skoll for season 2.

I have loved the series and the episode was good but it's annoying that it wasn't really a finale. There was no climax. There was no ending. It just stopped as if the next episode will be next week.

Plus you have a couple of the coolest anti jedi villains and they weren't even in the episode until a cameo at the end.

I can't argue any of that. I should have said, "solid final episode, but didn't feel like a finale'." ;) I really like Skoll.

I thought the series was pretty good. I hated the 3rd episode, but 4-7 were really good. The finale was kind of disappointing. The fact that Shinn and Baylon only showed up at the very end was weird. I was super excited to see Thrawn and his ragtag group of troopers. Baylon was probably my favorite part of the series. It's a shame will not see Ray moving forward.

Ray Stevenson, the esteemed Northern Irish actor, passed away on May 22, 2023, just four days shy of his 59th birthday. The news has left the entertainment world in a state of shock and mourning. Reports suggest he suffered a heart attack, but no official cause of death has been disclosed.

Damn I somehow missed that. Thanks for the info.

Will be curious if they recast him or find a way to write him out somehow.

I loved this series. I didn’t watch the animated series before but there are videos out on YouTube that give a synopsis of what happened and highlight the important parts.

Filoni is for sure doing a movie so I assume all the questions would be answered with that after Mando season 4.

I started watching The Clone Wars for the first time because of Ahsoka. I always wondered where General Grievous came from in the movies. People have said The Clone Wars gets really good as it moves forward.

There are definitely a lot of filler episodes that do nothing for the overall story, so don't get hung up on disliking those episodes. The overall series is excellent.

I was left wondering why his character and his apprentice seemed totally cool with being abandoned on a planet in another galaxy with little hope of returning. I suppose they may cover this in season 2.

feels like a lame gimmick to begin with but as it progresses it becomes apparent what a really great show it is. and the ahsoka anakin maul arc is incredible.

I thought that was kind of a ridiculous combination of genres.
They were in the episode I watched last night.

Main complaint I had - given that I haven’t watched clone wars, so aside from the two recent Jedi video games I know next to nothing about the night sisters; it was off-putting imo for anyone not familiar with that.

A little bit of the late series GOT like fast-forwarding of the Erza story. Thrawn was freaked out about the Jedi jumping aboard the ship - how did the three witches not sense Erza's presence? Also assuming the security cameras were out as there were only two stormtroopers in the rear. Oh well - I will take it for what it is.

That’s partly due to a poor explanation of their powers - idk if they can sense other force users like a Jedi could. And heck, Ezra had been hiding on the planet for years with them only having a vague idea of where he was - presumably he was able to mute his abilities.

as for security cameras - we’ve know since new hope that the Empire is very lax on internal security.

Rewatching with my son. In Ep4 when Sabine signs off with Hera, she says, "Fulcrum out". I thought Fulcrum was Ahsoka's covert callsign that was later transferred to Agent Kallus when he assumed the role of spy?
