Akrum getting accolades so far

"Wadley has by far been the most impressive undrafted free agent, according to reports. He's got a burst that catches your eye immediately. He continues to push David Fluellen for the third running back spot. It will be fun to watch that battle during training camp and the preseason."

The key is can he stay healthy.

Come on Wadley, beat out Fluellen! Gotta see him make the team and have a good career. Great to hear he has been turning heads!

Most teams carry 4RBs so I would way his odds are pretty good. Especially if they have him return kicks. We'll see if they want to keep A'dore Jackson fresh for D or put his on special teams.

Here is a link. He is the most impressive rookie of the UDFA crew for Tennessee. He has to beat out David Fluellen for the 3rd RB spot. The writers have been impressed with him so far. Big mini-camp coming up on 6/11. Fyi

Mini-camps are interesting and mostly good for media fodder. Training camp when pads are on is when jobs are won. Wadley always looked like an NFL running back to me, whatever that means. Maybe not blazing speed, but can make people miss in tight quarters, which is crucial in the NFL.

He has the ability to be an Alvin Kamara type player if given the opportunity. Compare his combine profile to that of Kamara (3rd RD pick in 2017) and you'll see the only difference is weight -- 191 vs 215. They have very similar strengths and weaknesses. Wadley was MUCH more productive in college, had a slightly faster 40 time, and a highlight reel that's second-day of the draft caliber. But that slight frame scared people. The workhorse RB is an antiquated model, though. Wadley is the prototypical change of pace back, which every team needs now. Can catch well and is always one missed tackle away from a huge gain. Still can't believe he went undrafted. He'll make a name for himself.

His pass pro better have improved 2000%. He also better show in preseason games that he is willing to sell out to make a tackle. As a 3rd or 4th string RB you better produce on special teams

Agreed, quickness sometimes trumps speed, and Wadley has the quickness.

Wadley has NFL talent and should have been drafted, plain and simple. And isn't the "if he can stay healthy" proviso true of any athlete in any sport--especially the NFL?

If he can't beat out a guy for 3rd string, then maybe being an undrafted FA is exactly what he should have been.

Another snippet I found when looking through news of the Titans mini-camp that started yesterday. Mostly news of Mariota and Lewan’s holdout and other big name starters. Then there was this paragraph snuck into the report:
• Undrafted rookie Akrum Wadley appears to be making the most of his limited reps. He caught a pass from quarterback Blaine Gabbert in team drills, and took off. The guy is quick

I really get the feeling he is going to make that team and be a valuable guy for them. Yes, I know, it is early.

I have a feeling that AW is going to look pretty small out there with the NFL guys.

But, the game is more about speed than size. Hope he sticks!
