Alcohol could be tied to Iowa’s fastest-growing cancer rate

How do we compare to other agricultural states where this is concerned?

Probably a combination of things. Obesity, alcohol, age, chemicals.
Doesn't help when the hick mindset is I don't have to go to doctor. "I'm healthy as I am!" when they look like Sherman Klump on a good day.

I'd put money on Iowa's high cancer rate having more to do with being a chemical dumping ground for farmers than alcohol intake.
This is probably true. I would think that if you are regularly exposed to chemicals, drink heavily and are a tobacco user, your chances of getting cancer are fairly good. If you are also obese, don't expect to live a long, healthy life.

Interesting piece. My bro in law, a physician, thinks that by the time our generation's grandkids are adults, alcohol will be pretty much illegal.
