Watched the first half of the Cherry Creek vs Doherty football game in Colorado Springs tonight. Halftime score was 35-0 CC. Here are a few things that stood out to me regarding our #Swarm19 QB:


1. Kid is a gamer (what he lacks in height he makes up with heart and tenacity)
2. Arm strength was better than I expected (he completed a couple 40+ yard passes)
3. Elusive and quick. Had 4 or 5 runs when WRs were covered.
4. Tough and fearless with the ball
5. Decision making was excellent. Quick and decisive with the ball. Took what the defense gave him.

I only noticed one batted ball during the half I saw. Alex was able to make plays out of nothing. I’m impressed with what I saw tonight. Padilla had a calm demeanor on the sidelines, and he looked to be a great leader. Glad he is a Hawkeye!

I absolutely love the way this kid hangs in their in the midst of pressure. He unloads it quickly. Has way more than enough arm strength. Exciting player. Going to be fun to watch.

I was there as well, analysis spot on! I’d also ad amazing awareness and footwork in the pocket! Stared down a WR or 2 but other than that it was tough to get good read- CC is pretty loaded this year-think of them as the West Des Moines Valley of Colorado

Here are a few more videos from the first half of CC vs DHS last night. I watched Alex throw a perfect completion to a receiver 30+ yards down the field (far side of field) and instantly regretted not getting it on camera. I decided to grab my phone and ended up taking videos of about seven or eight plays from the first half. Was lucky to capture a few highlights:

Alex took a hard hit and didn't shy away from contact. Personal foul called on this play for a late hit. Kid is tough.

Here is an example of his arm strength. Wasn't a completion, but a well thrown ball.
