How does that math work? Women make 64 cents on the dollar of a man, but she wants 64% of his salary? Would we just be giving 36% to make her whole. LOL

I find the assertion on TicTok to be unrealistic. Numbers can show anything, but they don't mean much if the position and years of experience aren't similar. I'd like to see the supporting data.

It is never comfortable to ask your leader for a raise, but I've done it many times. You back up the request with a list of accomplishments and your impact to the company. It is a game and there is strategy to it. He also point blank told me last week there is no one with experience and technical ability I possess that can handle the pressure.

If your leader has that opinion, race, gender, religion, etc won't matter.

Then the next trick is being great while and training a backfill to ensure you can move on.

Please be careful using the word “leader”. Most managers are not leaders.
