How would you compare the two, who is the tougher matchup for King?

I haven't seen a whole lot of Lazard but I seem to remember Boyd being a big body, good route runner, good hands, not noticeably speedy.

I might see Lazard as a slightly tougher matchup than Boyd.

Allen Lazard is 6'5 so that presents a challenge in and of itself.

If you want to compare Lazard to someone, I would say Todd Blythe.

Allen is a great receiver, but he is no Boyd. Allen is more like some of those big Michigan WR over the years. More like Adrian Arrington than Tyler Boyd.

Lazard is taller. Boyd was likely faster. The biggest difference is that the Pitt OL was able to give Pitt's QB enough time to throw the ball. The match-up between Iowa's pass-rush and ISU's protection will be an important one ... particularly given the fact that Iowa will have to be disciplined because Warren if a very talented RB.

Boyd actually isn't all that fast. He ran a 4.58 40 at the Combine, and I believe he had pretty average quickness as well. Among receivers at the combine, he didn't place in the top 15 in any of the events except the 3 cone drill, which he placed 10th at.

What makes him such a threat is that he potentially ran the cleanest/sharpest routes in all of college football and was also one of the most aware. Great hands too. Lazard has the better frame and may be more athletic, but Boyd is the better receiver and definitely the tougher matchup.

Boyd is a better pure receiver but Lazard might be the tougher matchup for King because of his size. I know King will be able to cover Lazard but because of his size he will win some battles if his QB can get him the ball.
