Amani Hooker attends the same high school as my daughters did, Park Center in suburban Minneapolis. Great family and great athletes. His brother is starting PG on the U of North Dakota team and was runner up to Tyus Jones his senior year for Mr. Basketball.

Park Center is 2-1 and Hooker is wracking up some impressive stats. He plays receiver and DB. Specific stats are a little hard to track down but game summaries give a pretty good indication of his dominance in the games.

Week 1: PC beat Bloomington Kennedy 21-9
Hoover had a 12-yard TD rec,
A 40-yard TD rec,
And a 2-pt conversion

In week 2 PC lost to Spring Lake Park 28-7
Hooker had a 11-yard TD run

In week 3 PC pounded DeLaSalle 35-7.
Hooker had a 67-yard TD run,
A 100-yard int return for a touchdown,
A 65-yard int return for a TD,
Another int,
And a 2-point conversion run

Hawknorth, i see Amani switched to QB. How is he as a passer? He went 13-17 for 335 yards, plus a bunch of rushing yards lat week. That's my type of QB. They say he looks impressive as a QB. Have you seen his throwing?

We are good next year at the DB positions, so he might redshirt anyhow. Would it be worth seeing what Amani can do as a QB his redshirt year?? He could always switch back to DB his RSFR year, if he does not show any promise in the fall and spring as a quarterback...

I like a tough QB in the mold of a Drew Tate or a CJB. Amani is certainly tough enough.

His offensive statistics reflect his athleticism rather than his true quarterback ability. His throwing motion and lack of collegiate arm strength will prevent him from playing quarterback in college.

Yep, I see him being an athletic DB with good ball skills kind of in the Micah Hyde mold.
