Sorry to create new thread on this, but my sister is moving to Oakland CA this week, and wanted me to help her find an Iowa friendly bar, for her to go watch Hawkeye games with other Hawk fans. Anyone have any suggestions here? Thanks in Advance for any input!

4409 - tell your sister to watch her P's and Q's. Oakland in general is not a safe place to live(not only major crime - but minor crimes). SFO - is actually a lot safer but no one can afford to live here. Hence all the riff raff live in Oakland.

Ya, she's actually in Piedmont, it looks basically like a land locked suburb of Oakland (kinda like University Heights...lol!).
Piedmont (much safer) she's getting into the burbs there. If she likes Pastrami sandwiches have her check out the Wood Tavern (only about 5 miles from Piedmont) if she doesn't like Pastrami - all there food is Great and it's a Safe area. http://woodtavern.net/menus.html
