An Iowa City business owner is facing 27 felony charges after police say he paid a minor to have sex with him.

Pablo Mejia Aguilar, 41, owner of Super Star Granite in Iowa City, is facing 13 counts of third-degree sexual abuse of a child, 13 counts of prostitution and one count of drug distribution to a minor after allegedly building a relationship with a minor paying them more than $1,000 to have sexual intercourse.

Mejia Aguilar filed a conditional use permit for his business, Super Star Granite at 3535 Dolphin Drive SE in Iowa City, with Johnson County in 2023.

The 41-year-old allegedly met with the minor "approximately 13 different times" for sex. Location data pulled from the minor's cell phone shows they met at a residence and a business belonging to Mejia Aguilar, according to the criminal complaint.

Mejia Aguilar also allegedly took the minor to "vacant apartments he was in the process of remodeling." He also allegedly provided the person with a cell phone so he could "set up meetings to engage in sex acts," according to court documents.

Police uncovered more than $1,100 in cash, alcohol and marijuana in the minor's room, all of which was allegedly provided by Mejia Aguilar.

Mejia Aguilar's bond has been set at $285,000. He was scheduled to have a bond review at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Johnson County courthouse.

I saw "Iowa City business owner arrested" and immediately assumed this would be about ol Brian Joens.
He has issues, but he isn't a pedo. Take away his inability to control himself at a basketball game, or his disdain for Jimmy Johns, he's a very nice guy and gives a lot of his time to kids. But, man, when his kids are playing....

show me the proof (just a tweet that says literally anything you want to believe with no sort of source to back up the claim)
You have to find the proof. I'm allowed to call you a sheep and make insane claims about stuff. You're the one that needs to find the evidence to support it.

What’s his gripe with Jimmy John’s?

Well...to be fair...it's a little more than basketball or Jimmy John's. Like his restaurant problems, and getting arrested for following and stalking people, or for pulling the ladder and stranding workers on the roof of his building, or his crazy rants on the radio, or a number of other legal and unacceptable behavior issues.

The restaurant he and his wife own share road access and a parking lot with a Jimmy Johns. There has been at least one well publicized encounter when Brian berated someone for parking in what he considers his portion of the lot and going into Jimmy's.

His business shares a drive through lane with Jimmy John's. So, he harasses Jimmy John's customers that have to drive by his open drive through window. He's been in the police reports following customers into Jimmy John's cussing them out. Jimmy John's has to call the cops on him all the time.

Fair enough, but, let's be honest, some people choose to be equally immature and engage him with the intent of creating a ruckus.

Maybe a few, but I don't think that's really true. Most really don't want to interact with him. But, he will create a confrontation.
Whether at his business, at a high school game, when he's getting kicked out of Carver, or fighting with his neighboring businesses and landlord, or really anybody he's on the phone with, or talking to.

That’s why God created baseball bats.

Sounds like he's chewed your ass a time or two?
