Angel of Death

She’s a bad ass. Thank God we have people like that who protect our nation.
At the beginning she explains why she joined the Air Force. The Air Force fulfilled those needs back when she joined…it’s arguable whether it does anymore. Might be the reason they have a problem with retention.

C-130 gun ships are about the scariest thing you can hear as a bad guy. They can stay up there forever hunting you.
All of these blood and guts, weekend warriors here who piled up purple hearts as baggage handlers at the Bagdad airport...and not one of them told your dumbass that a C-130 is a transport aircraft and an AC-130 is a gunship? Ya boy, I bet those tangos really fear getting hit in the head with a pallet of MREs! 🤣 Keep trying, little beaver, some day you'll score an accurate post!! 🤡

Seek help.

1. The wife's uncle worked on the ground crew servicing AC-119's in Vietnam
2. She mentioned landing in Greece while transiting towards Afghanistan. I believe the base is on the island of Crete, and GoogleEarth won't let you look at it. Kind of a drag, but it sent me down a rabbit hole. Supposedly the adjacent port is the only NATO port that can berth US carriers. All of the other ports have too shallow of a draft for them, unless something has changed with the addition of Finland and Sweden. I'd have thought Rota could handle them, but apparently not. US carriers are just too damn big to port in Europe.

The C-130 is the airframe, stupid.

C-130 training and qualification is in Little Rock and it’s the same for everyone. Doesn’t matter the branch or variant of the plane.

MC 130 is a badmofo too (for different reasons than the AC130 of course). I'd be shitting if I was a bad guy and either one of these was closing in on my location.

I was fortunate as part of a program in Arkansas to ride in the back of one of these. They take it over a lake and open the back door low to the water. Very impressive what they get done at the AF base there. They hand out barf bags to everyone as people don't realize how bumpy a non-commercial ride will be.
