Almost all cases are due to people having this before they even show up for the first day of school....I had my kids tested before they went back...it’s not that hard. People are just irresponsible
For sure as it now gets spread everywhere

My 2 cents are that ideally the schools should have tested kids before they returned, but I get that it would have been infeasible.

I know one family involved. They have been SUPER careful for months and months for a variety of reasons no one should have to deal with. Very restrictive with their children, even an upperclassman. They think the oldest got it when they let their guard down and let him do something with friends like one time. They think he got it and then gave it to the parents. Other kids in the same house do not currently have it. If all this is accurate either they won the inverse lottery or it is much more widespread and most people in ankeny have it and don’t know it or will be getting it shortly.

The growth in just the 7 years I’ve lived in Ankeny is unreal. Open land in all directions as far as the eye can see, and most of it is being developed. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see a 3rd high school added at some point down the road.

Still lots of space but at some point growth to the east and north will be constrained by the ankeny school district boundary, if the family cares about going to ankeny schools.

Also, the growth in 16 years is crazier. About double. When we moved here there was no Best Buy and most of the stuff on Delaware, let alone everything off state street.

You’re right of course - obtaining that many tests was infeasible. Just like it was once infeasible to land on the moon. The lack of innovation to solve this problem has been completely unacceptable.

How do you have a nearly 2 to 1 ratio? They must have really small classes!!
Assume you mean 12 to 1. No idea other than it includes aids and such for kids with special needs or an IEP. Typical class size is usually 25-30 I think.
