A college buddy of mine from southern Illinois told me that Iowa (and Iowa State) has inquired about an athletic 6'7" OT from Nashville, IL who committed to Mizzou this summer before Pinky Pinkel was force to retire. I know the hope is out for Mike Farnoik but he seems to be leaning to Nebby. Alaric Jackson is still open but he's showing more love to MSU (home state). Sean Foster's status is unclear.
Newman plays basketball and baseball and is a very good athlete. He may have a greater upside as his footspeed is better than Farnoik or Jackson or Foster.
