I listen to the Score a lot. It's one of the two major sports talk stations in Chicago, and today they had former Gator Alex Brown on. He played for the Bears for several seasons, and is a regular contributor to the Score, and on post game TV shows. They started the segment by teasing him about the state of UF football, but the conversation turned to FSU and UM. He grew up in that golden era when national title implications reverberated when those teams met, and it was much watch TV. HIs take was that all of the Florida schools have lost their focus on recruiting home state kids. He specifically said UM during its best years rarely recruited north of Orlando. When he was at UF it was almost all Florida kids with only a few skill guys from out of state. Now they lose too many kids specifically to Georgia and Alabama.
Would you say that is accurate? I follow Iowa recruiting, but couldn't tell you much about roster construction and recruiting at the Florida schools.
