I remember back in 2009, there was a hot rumor about the Sugar wanting Iowa and the SEC cried until they picked up the "traditional" picks. I just know that the Sugar was very interested in Iowa in 2009 and thought about taking them. How about New Orleans folks?

Thoughts?

No.

The Sugar is contracted to have B12 and SEC teams in years where they don't host the playoffs, just like the Rose is with the B1G and P12.

Back during the BCS and 2nd place "replacement" team still had to be ranked in the top 14, I think. Now I don't believe there's a minimum ranking to get in the Orange, Rose, or Sugar. So if the Big 10 champ is in the playoff and the next best team is 8-4 and ranked #22 the Rose can still take them. With 14 teams that's unlikely to ever happen, I suppose. But the second team being outside the Top 12 is very feasible, especially for the ACC. THis year the SEC's Sugar Bowl rep will likely have 3 losses
