Would like to get a peek of the Hawkeye end zone. Hoping its gold with huge ass "IOWA" in black.

Neat article about the grass preparation for the Rose Bowl.

I wonder why they pressed the grass to change shades on the 5 yard lines instead of the 10 yard lines. It makes it a bit confusing in my opinion.

We're gonna win! In '82, '86 and '91, the Hawks had gold with black lettering in the SOUTH end zone, and the game was played on Bermuda rye grass instead of Kentucky bluegrass. Anything we can do that's the "opposite" of those games would definitely be beneficial.

Thanks for the pic. Would love to see more, especially from a higher vantage point. I remember walking into the southeast ramp of the Rose Bowl a few days before the 1982 game and seeing 'IOWA' in that south end zone. After 20 years of losing seasons, the panorama of the Rose Bowl and seeing that end zone confirmation that the Hawkeyes would be playing there was indescribable.

Then, as now, the sky was blue, every blade of grass was so perfect the field looked like the 18th green at Augusta, and the San Gabriels stood silently in the background.

Do I wish Iowa were still playing for a national title? You betcha. But you still can't beat the event that is the Rose Bowl. Now if only these Hawkeyes can turn back the clock and play like it was 1959, it would be, like the field itself, indescribable.

The Granddaddy of them all and this happens to be Kirk's first Rose Bowl as
Head Coach. #goHawks
This group of Seniors is a special group. I'm expecting an Iowa WIN on Friday.
