Any news on DeSanto?

I would rank him #3 after Pletcher and Micic. Sounds like Pletcher could redshirt next year. Delvecchio graduates but Suriano goes up. So when we look at next year I think Desanto would slot in at 3 or 4 depending on who goes for PSU.
I think this is pretty accurate. Not as deep as 125 was this past year, so a chance for him to get higher on the podium. Looking at the results that a really talented and hard working lightweight can achieve at Iowa, he might be able to add to his arsenal, which might move him even higher.

As regulars on this board, we need to figure out ways to shut this garbage down. Call out idiots who think it's okay to post crap like this, like so many of you have done on this thread, and make it clear that this is not an HR belief, but a personal defect of these posters.
Iowa fans are the same people who called Bo Nickel a retard...

Wrong, one stupid poster did this. We all thought he came off as douchey in the moment after a big win. I get his adrenaline was going, but it seemed so scripted

Whether he’s been diagnosed or not his mentality should be able to be discussed. It is a big part of what makes him good and it is also clear that it was a big problem under the stress of the NCAA tournament. The Iowa room isn’t Drexel which could be better or worse. I don’t know. I am concerned as a Hawkeye fan about him being in our singlet while doing something like he attempted to Micic. I’m concerned about Iowa pursuing him and I was horrified that they almost were represented by PD3.

Montorie Bridges
Austin DeSanto

Well yeah it was one guy that started the thread, how many of you didn't disagree? I'll tell you... Most!

Personally, my hope for Austin is he ends up in the place that's best for him to have success both in academics and athletics. Although all discussion is simply speculation, I think it's fair to say Austin may have some challenges many of us are not faced with or understand, and hey, that's okay as we're all wired differently.

Although I'm biased as an Iowa fan, I do feel strongly that Iowa could be a good fit for him. I think the connection with Spencer Lee would be a tremendous asset for Austin given the mutual admiration and respect to go along with the fact that Spencer Lee's talent extends above and beyond the wrestling mat. He's mature beyond his years, is a leader, and he's just a good human being. I think that alone would be good for Austin, along with the coaches, teammates, and being rooted on by good people of Iowa. I've had the opportunity to live in all sorts of places and I'm grateful for having grown up in Iowa. It's simply good people. I think a combination of the above along with a supportive family could equal success for Austin.

Just my two cents

Great post. I think this is spot on: Spencer is unique ... not just his talent, but who he is as a person. What better role model to partner up with for 3 years (on and off the mat). In life, you want to surround yourself with good people. Spencer is "good people."

if you can't see the difference in the two situations, you have problems
Would you explain what's different? Here's the thing.. I work with special needs people, And I do not think the usage of that word is ever ok...never. Honestly the only thing different I see is Bo Nickal don't wrestle for Iowa and never will. You guys are hoping to get Desanto even though he was trashed on this board for a week after nationals until it was possible he would come to IC. Now everyone loves him..

So unless EVERY poster chimes in "I disagree", then that means, to you, that all HR members have the same thoughts as that 1 poster, or any other poster for that matter? Makes sense
Nope, I was more or less saying that people did not state that it wasn't right to use that word..

Then apparently this is the only board you read following Nationals...

Not even in Tropic Thunder?

I didn’t even see the thread you are talking about. So I have said poster on ignore and I doubt i have too many true IOWA fans in ignore. Do tells me that said poster is a troll....

I think it actually got deleted because of all the piling on of Bo.. It was sad.

Try not to lose sleep over your concern. I'm sure the coaches and admins have done their homework and I'll take their word on it.

He may very well do fine but at this point has done nothing in college to be mentioned on that list. Paul Glynn has a better college resume at this point.

Correct, D-bag is the correct descriptor.
This is the perfect representation of this site, Desanto was a terrible person for trying to break Micic's arm until he might come to Iowa. Now he's struggling with autism and is misunderstood. Bo gets too emotional after clinching the national championship and says something stupid so its ok to call him the "R" word and all kinds of other insults.. I'm done here, you double talking hypocrites have made my point.

Done already? That’s too bad. We hardly knew ye. Oh well.

You are the perfect example of the kind of troll I am talking about. Because one person said something, does not mean "HR thinks...." Should I judge penn state by one moronic post of someone claiming to be a fan? Or should I judge them by the actions of one psu'er who acts inappropriately?

You are simply a troll trying to take one thing and project it on to everyone even though you know it's a weak argument. For the record, for any psu'er out there reading this, I will not judge you based on what this simple minded idiot has to say. And like anyone who posts garbage like this, you are on ignore!

Glad you made the declaration and left. What was your motivation for staying? Were you hoping to change the person who used the word? To educate the rest of the board on why the usage of that word is unacceptable? If you were so offended at that time why did you stay? You had to realize you weren't going to get the change you were looking for.

Thank goodness, you are super annoying and apparently have an IQ under 70 (in case you didn't know that is the # that determines a person having an intellectual disability)
