He's from the Ukraine and emigrated to Wisconsin when he was in high school. He was a 2X DIII champ at Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He wrestled nothing but freestyle until he got to the US and then had to learn folkstyle.

High school teenager was one brain fart away from senior wtt finals at heavyweight. Yikes!

I think with the pace/attack rate he had in the 2nd he would have comeback against anybody other than the Coon/Nelson types that are massive even for hwt and rarely taken down. A year or 2 from now he finishes on those dudes.

Of the returning hwts Stoll definitely has the best chance to beat him because that girth and underhook can slow the match down. But Gable's gonna have to be pinned to be beaten next year imo.

Nate Burak is a definite under the radar type guy. 3 x AA (and rd 12 freshman year) - Would have been a 4 x AA if he had redshirted. Beating a lot of high quality guys in free. And yet still very overlooked and hardly ever thought of for how good he really was and is.
