I think about this every day. Two of my superiors would make great candidates. They’re not interested, got better things to do like saving our company.
I know thousands of people and not sure any of them would be as bad as Trump, and dozens who’d be better than Biden. Fortunately, Joe is a Centrist and will surround himself w competent people loyal to the country and Constitution. Trump has run off anyone that would restrain him from screwing up.
I don’t like Trump, but I don’t think he’s the devil. I was ready to not vote for him over handling of COVID.

What other choices are there? What are the odds that a Biden presidency is worse than a Trump presidency? 244 years of US history show me that the odds are low. Will Biden be great? Probably not....but the chances that he's worse than Trump have to be microscopic.

When it comes to personal liberty issues, I am highly liberal. Basically if it’s not something that affects me negatively like gay rights, recreational drug and alcohol usage when not on the road, equality for women and equality for minority “races” then I don’t care and fully support the rights of others. And I don’t mistake like Magats do equality of my straight white male Christian self with everyone else as “suppression”. On the other hand when it comes to business issues I’m also all for as little government interference as possible. But that doesn’t mean I buy the Magat line, I do not believe in corporate welfare and think that if the economy dictates a company fails then that’s actual capitalistic Darwinism (but I will say that disasters like hurricanes and covid are not “the economy dictating, but random disasters that should be helped by the government to limit impact). And I’m not a pure libertarian either because while I do usually favor the “right” side of corporate and taxation issues, I do recognize that we need infrastructure like education, roads, police (albeit not militarised police like we have here but actual law enforcement like you find in Britain, Australia and New Zealand), the military etc... and I’m conservative in that I actually like to “conserve” natural resources and preserve the environment.
So in the past I was a Republican because as a straight white male Christian I was not really being impacted personally on social issues while I was being impacted personally on business and tax related issues, BUT once the Republicans started “playing to the base” of Nazi Magats in Obama’s second term I could no longer associate myself with the filth in the base of the Republican Party. I’ve got friends who are gay, black, women, Asian, trans and even one who is all of the above, so the hate these whites supremacist and misogynist monsters called Magats direct for everyone else I can no longer abide. I can’t see myself dropping my independent tag and rejoining the Republican Party for at least a decade and that’s assuming they started self-correcting and “opening up the tent”.
