Anyone ever wonder if Oliver Martin shakes his head over choosing Michigan?

Iowa
Martin had a big 3 receptions in his opening UM game (in mop up duty) against Notre Dame and has 1 reception per game in 3 of the last four Wolverine games with their 4 star NFL quality QBs on the roster. What a great education Michigan is giving young Mr. Martin. A couple of 2 star recruits are displaying more ability and explosiveness. Martin can always thank JH for the pool party.

Will Martin still be on the Michigan roster in two more years? LMAO!

You can’t be serious. He snubbed his nose at Iowa and then literally and figuratively jumped in with both feet to join the “Great Snake Oil” Salesman in Ann Arbor. You need to move on.
Sounds like you need to move on. I'm not bitter about a high schoolers choice of schools. You are. Can anyone say projection?
Although I don't foresee him leaving and joining Iowa, he would likely be a good contributor if he did.

Who? We missed on Adrian Arrington from CR Wash. He was a big time receiver. Martin hasn't proven anything. He's not Tim Dwight (for an IC prep comparison).

This thread is petty. I’m not sure what is funny about any of this. Why you are taking pleasure in a kid’s supposed misfortune is beyond me.

Even when Iowa kids don’t choose Iowa I still follow them and wish them well.. I’d like to see them pick Iowa but some kids like to go away to college.. Ahmad Wagner didn’t choose to play football here and now I know Kentucky is undefeated. If he had nothing to do with Iowa I probably wouldn’t have paid any mind.. Most of us are from the state of Iowa where the most highly ranked high school recruits may not end up playing college ball in Iowa.. yep it stings but it’s real..

FWIW, best of luck to Olive Oil at Mich. Do they have a date with us in the near future? I hate Rutgers, Maryland, and Nebraska so much. We don't get to play Big Ten teams every year like back in the day.

Since we are talking about former recruits... anybody see the monster game Eno B had on saturday? Finished with over 300 yards.

In the case of Martin, who knows what his line would like for the Hawks. Maybe he is waiting his “Turn” in Ann Arbor. If Pete Carrol and USC could keep a stable of 5*’s till it was their time to shine. Im JH is capable of doing the same with Martin at WR

LMAO?

One question will be whether Tarik Black replaces Martin as the #3 WR once he returns from injury. If so ... Martin could be stuck being the #4 WR on a team that, like Iowa, still really likes to run the ball and pass it to its TEs. The point being ... there are limited number of snaps available for a #4. He needs to be making the most of his current opportunity as the #3.

Anyhow ... given that he didn't choose the Hawks ... he's dead to me anyhow.

There are many other schools I would have considered if I were Martin before Michigan. Iowa is one of them.

IMO if Tarik Black were back, and playing like he was before, he would be a starting WR. That said, a broken foot in consecutive seasons? Yeah, not a good streak going.

Kids leave their home state, especially when free tuition is involved. Mark Ingram went to the same HS I did(granted decades later). Didn't stop him from going to Bama.

You act like we throw the ball all over the yard. My guess is, if he does have regrets, not picking iowa isn’t one of them

This. Look, hate the guy for choosing Michigan if you want, but he has a ton of potential and he's got three years left at Michigan to prove it. I hope he dominates. Just not against us.

Why do you hope that he dominates? I can understand not wanting to hope that he fails, but hoping he dominates seems a little odd.

Forgot about the kid till this post. If he doesn’t see significant playing time this year or next, I could see him transition to swimming full time since Michigan has a pretty good swimming program and he wasn’t too shabby himself.

Tom Zbowski, Adrian Arrington, Ross P, Karan Higdon, Amari Darboh, Seantrel Henderson...and you can soon add Eno Benjamin to the list.

Crybaby fans like you claimed each of the above would be benchwarmers just because they didnt choose Iowa.

Quite frankly, I find your entire post to be pathetic.

It's odd to root for a kid that's from Iowa City? Near where I live? That comes from a good family? There's more to life than Iowa football. Oliver Martin is a great kid who will do big things in life. More power to him.

It would be odd to root for a kid solely because he is from IC as he had no choice where he was born/raised. Now the other factor that he comes from a good family makes a little more sense, but that was not information that was in your post and was unknown to me at the time. When a kid comes to play Iowa Football I do not care where he comes from.

Why would he? He knew it was going to be tough competition. he is only a redshirt freshman.

I still think Iowa City West is very weak for letting Harbaugh come into the school rolled out the red carpet and let Jimbo put a cranium sized condom on his head and take a dip in the school pool.
