Thinking about a short trip to Europe. Can use my United miles it appears.

Anyone flow either of them? Good, bad, or indifferent? Would catch them out of Chicago.

Thanks!

Eleven years ago and they weren't long hauls. But my impression then was that they were better than our domestic airlines. I'm not familiar with anything our than a good enough reputation.

The only reason I might avoid them is if my final destination is in Western Europe and you don't feel like the extra hours connecting in Istanbul then backtracking.

Turkish is great. I would have absolutely zero concerns booking with them if the route / service fits your needs.

I haven't flown LOT in a long time, so can't help you there.

Turkish for the win. Very good service. If you have lounge access their Istanbul Lounge is next level. Have flown them 4-5 times in biz class.

I haven’t flown LOT but my understanding is they are sort of slightly less than Lufthansa quality. Still good, but Turkish is competing with the Middle East airlines.

One point: Turkish usually flies to their Istanbul hub which, if you are connecting, is much farther than flying into something more centrally located. If you get a direct into a Western European airport it feels like a no brainer.

My 20 year old experiences on LOT would agree with this. Nothing wrong with it. Nothing great though. Very Lufthansa....or United....or American.
