Never gone before but tossing around the idea of heading over for the game. Good experience? Looks like a healthy drive for sure.

Worth it. Go. I rank it #2 behind Wisconsin in B1G Stadium experiences (aside from Kinnick). Fans have always treated us well, and it's a really good atmosphere. If you've never been, and have the opportunity. GO!

I was there in 2002. Great atmosphere, their fans were very welcoming, (I think they thought they would win so they were being nice!) We enjoyed the Rathskeller on Friday night but I think that is now gone.

Was at the Clayborn punt block game. People were pissed and the place was very quiet after. Lol best game I have attended right up there with Orange Bowl win.
The stadium has dumb endzone seats that go to the moon. Don’t get caught with those seats. They are garbage. We were mid-level and they were fine. Unlike Kinnick, they have some bad seats so buyer beware.
Hope Stanley can deal with the noise better then Wisco game from last year. ..stop Mc from scramble too

Cool place to watch a game. Helluva long drive. Get on I80 and don’t get off until you see Beaver Stadium off to the right about 11 hours later

you are gonna get a lot of folks lost with those directions.

I 80 for 11 hours to route 99. Go about 5 miles and you will see the Beav on the left.

Count me in- going with a group of friends I graduated with from Iowa ... I am flying into Chicago and then we are taking a friends RV to road trip it .. been planning this since Iowa lost last year to these bone heads and we all have revenge on our minds! HA! But seriously short week of work as tomorrow is my last day then heading tomorrow night with a flight to Chicago then Wednesday we start the road trip as one of my friends has a brand new Winnebago that’s pretty sweet.. so should be TONS OF FUN.. wish I could bring every Hawkeye fan with me though.. especially some of the ones who are down and out and maybe struggling with finances etc that would be the best gift I think I could give! Go Hawks!

You will know you are in PA when the roads have a surface on par with driving over cornfields. Worst roads ever...

Unfortunately I can't go this time, and I've not really had a chance to experience the town either, as we generally stay in Altoona and travel in on gameday. I'll keep those in mind though! THanks!

Two friends are flying in.

My wife and I went in 1983, early in Hayden's career before PSU was in the Big Ten. Flew from Iowa to St. Louis, grabbed connection to Pittsburgh, drove a rental car to State College on two-lane road in a downpour. Forecast called for more rain on Saturday, but it never happened. Instead, it turned out to be partly cloudy and nice, especially with Iowa winning a see-saw, offensive battle, something like 42-34. I believe Owen Gill led the way on the ground with 131 yards while Chuck Long passed for about 350 yards. Iowa had nearly 600 yards of total offense that day.

I have no desire to return to State College.

Here's a link to a NY Times story about that 1983 game: https://www.nytimes.com/1983/09/18/sports/iowa-defeats-penn-state-42-34.html
