The justices heard arguments in an appeal from Marlean Ames, who has worked for the Ohio Department of Youth Services for more than 20 years.

Ames contends she was passed over for a promotion and then demoted because she is heterosexual. Both the job she sought and the one she had held were given to LGBTQ people.

Common sense is slowly returning to America!
 
I'm pretty sure that pretty much all of you missed the actual point/issue in the case, which was whether majority-class plaintiffs in employment discrimination lawsuits had to actually prove/establish more things than minority-class plaintiffs, which makes very little sense in a law that's supposed to be about equal employment opportunity. That issue was a no brainer, and the real question was whether the court would reexamine the "burdenshifting" structure in title vii cases (which they won't)
