Appalachian Woman Explains Republican DEI Obsession

Spot on. Said it in another post, but whenever you hear, "BLM," "Woke," "CRT," "Diversity," etc., it's code for make America white again.
The problem is all those movements went off the deep end and made the middle of the road voter detest the left more than the right. Some of that is social media tending to the right but some of it is the lefts own doing.
When I hear those terms I hear some one believing in their own moral superiority, look at me i'm so much better than you. Unfortunately for the left these views are posted all over social media with someone in a horse outfit or with a muzzle on. The meme becomes the narrative.
The democrat party is killing me because they can't make the case they are better than donald trump (one of the top three worst americans to ever live) because they just refuse to call out BS in their fringe. Does that mean the R's do it, no. The R's will never Al Franken anyone.

You can't make a case to someone who isn't willing to listen.

I agree that most of the negative issues facing democrats is of their own doing. There's no excuse for losing to donald trump. Period. If Democrats can't find a way to appeal to the majority of Americans when trump is the opposite candidate, that's a problem.

That said, I've heard those terms (woke, DEI, BLM) more from the right than I have the left. The right has been masterful in using those terms against democrats. And every time they're used the underlying message is we need things to be more white.

Twice as qualified LOL sure.

The idea that DEI candidates at major corporations or universities are "twice as qualified" by the time they overcome some perceived discrimination obstacle...it's just so wildly out of tune with the real world. It's not 1955. We aren't talking about Jackie Robinson and Sidney Portier having to be "twice as goood". DEI hires today are always, by every measurable respect, less qualified and it's neither close nor debatable.

Any corporation or school that was holding minority applicants to twice as high a standard would be immediately, and rightfully, destroyed by the justice department.

There are literally zero cases of this happening at a single university in the entire country that require minority applicants to be higher for admittance, to even be AS qualified, let alone twice as qualified. Wait, unless that minority is Asian, then its definitely happening. But if you find one college or university that the SAT scores for admitted blacks and Hispanics are twice as high as admitted for white students, point it out.

What this woman is saying is just ludicrous on the face of it.

And the mediocre white men who's daddy got them a job is so infinitesimally small in real life situations, I don't for one minute believe that this woman is an actual real person.

I worked in corporate America for 37 years. The C suites are littered with mediocre white men who got where they are by who the knew and not what they knew.

My impression, from here in Missouri, is that DEI and Trans and similar issues are mostly just sledgehammers for the GQP to swing at Dems, while the Dems think of those issues like tweezers. Liberals feel like those folks have the right to be who they are and should treated equally and otherwise left alone but it doesn’t occupy a lot of space in policy platforms or governance.

Many people lose sight of the fact that most laws are about what you CANNOT DO (like kill, steal, harm or discriminate). More often these days, conservatives tend to respond to laws as something they MUST DO, which is ridiculous but an effective way to mislead their constituents into being against certain things.

For example, we have candidates running on platforms based solely on opposing transgender issues…and winning. When you can gather 60-70% of the vote by running on issues affecting maybe 1% of the population, something has gone terribly awry.

It's not the Democrats talking obsessively about and pushing these issues, it's the Republicans. The Republicans are constantly throwing shit against the wall to see what sticks when it comes to their pet "issues" to appeal to the prejudices of their base. When it comes to the racism/diversity prejudice schtick, CRT didn't work, but they hit the bullseye with DEI.

And It's the Republican party that pushes the most extreme versions of "woke" and "DEI" to people. Elected Democrats run screaming away from controversy and so they cede the ground on these issues.

The Dems would be better off if they contested Republican BS on these issues, but see above. They're too spineless and terrified, they wish politics was exclusively about egg and prescription drugs prices.

I’m sorry you were forced to be trans by not being an asshole to a fellow citizen. That’s on us Libs. Nailed it.

For the few magats who are reptilian or vermin:

"Some humans ain't human
Though they walk like we do
They live and they breathe
Just to turn the old screw
They screw you when you're sleeping
They try to screw you blind
Some humans ain't human
Some people ain't kind"

Yeah, it's pretty obvious that the obsession with DEI is all from the left. Just look at how much money the cult is willing to waste on pet projects. Thebleft deserves to lose every election for the next 50 years.

I have massive problems believing she is from Appalachia. She's probably from Los Angeles or New York and has a fake accent
I think she's at least originally from Appalachia with that accent, but it's privileged Appalachia, not the Appalachia we all picture.
