Apparently if you're a Big Ten fan you're a communist, according to ESPN

Lots of brilliant prose in that article and many clever metaphors!

What did he actually say? That UCLA and USC were not founding members of the conference anyway? Well, Cal was and look where it has gotten them!

That I personally am a communist? I get that a lot, and frankly there are a lot of socialist dynamics in college sports .... everywhere and across the board! Now we have bigger and better socialist dynamics?

..............................................................................

Personally, I do not think this is going to work out very well. We are trading tradition for money, but we still need the tradition to sell the loyalties to the various programs.

Clever minds should have come up with something better than "Let's get those teams before someone else does."

I'm also not sure how the national championship playoff participants will be decided with all this chaos.

At this point I just hope our traditions and rivalries are kept intact. With all the changes to collegiate sports of recent that's about the one thing I'm left to cling to. Let us play the border schools every year and a few games with traditional schools.

If you are an Iowa fan, your hope is that the B10 invites as many revenue generating teams as possible before the next TV deal because there are 2 teams in the B10 that drive national ratings.

I think the "battle" is over and the B1G won. It's probably time for the B1G to start being a little more selective in its post season plans, I know who the media is going to side with

I am guessing that we will have two (or more) Champions and go back to the notion of a "mythical" National Champion overall ... which means that the Television viewership will sway the selection process.

So these two super conferences are basically going to break up into several divisions which might have to have a playoff for the conference championship.

On one hand I'm happy to see the B10 come out winners in this but on the other hand how good is it for college football that nearly all the big name schools are under one of two umbrellas.
