My hunch is no, but they were starting 11 true freshmen. Half their starting roster was true freshmen. I'm inclined to think a highschool team that craps out 4 and 5* recruits like IMG Academy might be able to hang with or even beat that Illinois team. What do you think?

I know it's easy to shrug this off, but if all IMG's seniors went to the same college, they would make a top 5 recruiting class all by themselves. Not to mention the juniors as well. A top five recruiting class plus the juniors might be able to hang with this Illinois team that is starting 11 true freshmen.

History shows that after we play Michigan State, our chances of losing to Illinois are 3x higher, so it was a good possibility.
I don't think people realize how good some of these highschool teams are. IMG has 3 5 stars and 12 4 stars all just in one class. I think that's more than Iowa and Illinois have on their entire teams combined. I'm not saying they would certainly hang with a low level FBS team like Illinois, but it's worth at least a thought.
