The population of the United States is nearly 300 million people more than the population of Australia. Australia also had a big gun confiscation/buyback not too long ago, meaning the number of guns remaining in Australia is small.

I guess I don't understand your point. If you read the article they're saying there's likely more than 300 million guns in the US already. & I do think that is a conservative number. It wouldn't surprise me if there's much much more than that

Probably so. Still makes no sense to compare us to Australia.
