You don't need to be rich if you have great credit. You can look like you're rich by financing everything and making minimum payments the rest of your life.

Congrats! How long have you had your house paid off? And I have to imagine that feels very relieving. I am on target to be there in about 15 months before I turn 50.

No mortgage for 7 years, and it could have been 15 years but I leveraged the mortgage by making more in investment income than mortgage interest.

I haven't had a car payment since 1996.

I'm not very materialistic in general.
