Are you ready for some Basketball!

He’s being a bit over the top by claiming to give up season tickets as a result but it’s hard to argue with him that Iowa does nearly nothing to generate hope, enthusiasm and anticipation towards the upcoming basketball season, especially for university students. We have had a long standing problem of lack of student support for basketball. If I were the AD I’d be pulling out the stops to get student butts in seats. Our administration doesn’t seem to give a shit so these generations of students and then eventually their kids will have zero interest for the rest of their lives.

What would happen if Fran came out and said that Iowa is a football school? Do you see the difference in marketing between basketball and football? It’s as clear as day.

I agree about doing whatever it takes to get the students to the games. But it’s their choice not to come. It’s not like these games, especially B1G games are secretive. It’s the chicken or the egg with the students and the same for being a football school. If Iowa starts winning consistently, it will change. Students will come and could be a basketball school that it once was.

I know I’ve been called once a week for the last 6 weeks by Dave “my personal account specialist” trying to get me to buy tickets. With work and the Iowa winter drive, I’m not sure I can commit to season tickets as much as I’d love them. So at least they’re trying. Could it be better, absolutely.

I have young kids who are busy, so I can barely even make half the games. I still renew each year because they do a good job of marketing particularly on social.

Hooters is the Iclub home, but I’m not positive which Hooters it is.

Staying at Park MGM for the first part of the trip and then move to Bally’s for work. Going out for 13 days. I hope I bring enough Paigow money.

The Hooters that hosts the I Club is out on Rainbow Blvd. We were just there for the Iowa/Michigan football game. It was a pretty good crowd.

The Hooters closer to the strip was sold and is no longer a Hooters.

I am always ready for some Hawkeye basketball. I anticipate every season, usually optimistically. I must admit, though, this season I really have no grasp on what this team might be able to achieve. Just too many mystery players, all of whom we're told are performing well in practice. I guess we'll see when the real bullets start flying. Have a tough schedule this season. Hope we're up to it.

Agree. Tougher schedule and cupcakes (or even those close to Iowa in talent) have supposedly improved.

This year has an odd feel to it with so many unknowns. Last year, I didn’t have many expectations and the year started out well for the most part. A few more weeks......

Probably not going to win the Big10 West in football, soooo yes ready for basketball aspirations.

I am enjoying the uncertainty up to this point. I am cautiously optimistic that CJ, Joe T and Evelyn are going to provide the attitude and skill at guard that we've wanted for a long time. It could also be a breakout year for Nunge. Between those four and PMac, I'm looking forward to a lot.
