Jordan looked tough as nails, Ruan absolutely broke in 3rd, very entertaining match until then
So tired he could hardly stand up in the third period. Gave up 3 takedowns in about 30 seconds. Laid flat on the mat for a minute in the 3rd when he just needed an escape to tie or win it if he escaped before 17 seconds left. At least once he didn't even stand up when released and Shields just stepped behind him for another takedown.
Jake Ryan has no business starting on a top 5 team. He has no offense, no ability from top, and no lungs. Tom Ryan costing his team a chance at a title by not recruiting over his son.
No Bo...so glad I didn't waste the time going up there. This is what kills wrestling...Sitting the top guys.
He died in the 3rd...So far, worst i have seen this season except for Brunson at all stars
Pathetic that Bo Jordan did not wrestle this dual and even more pathetic was Jake Ryans effort. It is extremely disappointing having a marquee match-up missed because a coach is scared his wrestlers seed may be messed up.
Not sure. Bo hasn't wrestled yet this year. Nate supposedly had surgery and isn't ready yet.

Bo also sat out at the last open that tOSU was at, but it's still disappointing to not get to watch him and Zahid battle it out. I don't think they can see each other until NCAA's now unless there's a shared tournament they're both in that I'm not aware of.
Ryan's finish was absolutely embarrassing. He actually took quite a few shots early on and was winning but just gave up and accepted defeat in the third period. As others stated he literally didn't get his head off the mat when Shields walked all the way out in front of him and made absolutely no contact. It's a shame that Ryan won't try and get somebody else in there, I would be pretty pissed if I was on that team and had to watch that go down knowing that's the only option for 157 for a while.

Obviously, he was up against a kid who isn't at his level, but Zahid was still fun to watch. He's got so many go to attacks and he wrestles like a grizzled veteran already. I like how he seems never to be content with just riding on top. He's always looking to turn. That near-side, suicide cradle was pretty impressive.
Also 165 is supposed to be a hole for the Buckeyes, however Burcher looked great against Anthony Valencia, keeping it close. Valencia was in on some crazy shot out of nowhere and somehow Burcher had the mat awareness to defend them. Not a match the Hawks can afford to lose in a duel with tOSU.

You are positive this is the case? There is absolutely no way he's out for a legit reason?
Burcher did do a good job but Anthony is not in the same league as his brother.
While I agree Zahid has been better as of late, not in the same league? Disagree there. Both are AA caliber wrestlers as college freshmen. Wins over Imar and Mark Hall put Anthony at a pretty high level. They are both exciting and great for the sport.

Anthony has regressed IMO. I would not be surprised if he doesn't AA this year.
I don't think AV will AA this year. 165 is too tough. I also agree he is not in the same league as his bro. Zahid is tough to score on and is really good on offense. AV's blast double got figured out. Plus, he has a confidence problem.

Tom Ryan probably told Bo last March to knock up his wife so he could hold him out of the dual with ASU.

Epic OT match from 2013 between Valencia and Hall. Needless to say, Anthony has not progressed as much since then compared to his peers. I agree with Chief and Blackcat. No AA this year at 165.
Agree. AV will be fortunate to qualify, let alone win more than one match at nationals. That said, it's really early in the season...
Along with his wife being due, Bo is hurt. He'll continue to be hurt. He has a bad toe. I don't consider it an injury if it'll never heal. He's been dealing with it for years.
Doubtful if (all of) Bo's toes were healthy he would have any better of a college record.
