At Large Bids Announced

Totally agree! Probably wouldn’t have scored more than a few points but glad he has no chance to score now. 😃
Yeah, I don't think these add ons make a whole lot of difference. I guess if some schools want to brag that they got 8/9/10 qualifiers, then have at it.. Most of those at larges will be 0-2 BBQ.

Wyatt Sheets only got in last year because the 33rd seed got injured. So technically he was the 34th guy at his weight and he placed 8th. It mattered to him.

This is not the case. Lots of talent and past AA got at large bids.
125 Noah Surtin & Terukina
133 Hines and Lajoie
141 Red and Simon past AA’s
149 Abas AA, Edmond, Ogunsanya, YaYa AA
157 Sheets AA,
165 Valencia AA Meyer
174 Foca, O’Reilly, Nijenhuis
184 Geer AA, Lyon, Samuelson, Washington

There is some talent in at-large bids.

Like I said, let's revisit this after Nattys.

Cause there's probably a reason these guys didn't place in that weight's allotment at conference.

I guess the part I disagree with is most will go 0-2 BBQ. I agree, not a lot of title contenders or high AA’s but I’d take the over on 1/2 of them winning a match. I’d guess 4-6 AA out of the bunch.

Great breakdown. Going down the list Simon was a c*nt hair from upsetting Eirman early this season. Jden Abas kept Murin from AAing last season. Sheets has a win over Young. Valencia has a win over the Bull and 2 wins over Kaleb Young. Geer dominated Assad last time out. That’s a lot of wins from that field over guys we are hoping end up on the podium.

Covid craziness probably to blame, but Murin needed one last year and Young needed one for the cancelled year.
