Appears that Barta wants to upgrade one of the hawks primary sports teams. A $10,000,000 upgrade to the Finkbine golf clubhouse has been given to the board of regents and approved. This proposal also includes a restaurant on site for the general public, that will be open 12 months a year.

Is it safe to assume that "clubhouse" is code for wrestling room??????
I am all for it. It is one of the few U of Iowa athletic facilities the general public can use.
And what is wrong with spending money on a college golf team. I am not one but most people would probably think it is better than spending it on a college wrestling team.

Why would anyone bitch about this? As said, probably much of it is private money.
Want more for wrestling? Raise the money. Convince a (or a number of) wealthy donor (s) to fork over the cash.

Finkbine is more than a "college golf clubhouse."
Then we need to invite these guys to a couple sold out meets in Carver. You know they've got some pent-up aggression to let out from years of refraining to a golf clap
Does rich golfer crowd correlate well with wrestling fans? Any of the coaches good golfers? Send them out to play high stakes skins.
I've said this before and have no problem with new building at all, but it is a bit funny. UI puts our release that dies/greens can't pay for the current building, then immediately announce the new, totally privately funded building. So, obviously they could have paid for the old, the donors just wanted newer, bigger, nicer.

Of course! I'm huge wrestling fan and I can get along with anyone...especially if they're forking over a ton of money to my favorite wrestling team.
Article said it made enough to cover current costs, not payments on the current building.
