Living in Lexington, I expect to get killed by UK basketball in recruiting each year, but football too?!??!?!

Kirk is 0-4 against Mark Stoops this week alone! Stoops got 3 4* (247) recruits in one day earlier this week for 2017. All 3 were offered by Iowa. Kirk hasn't gotten a total of 3 4* recruits in the past year! Another swing and a miss today for a defensive tackle from Georgia we desperately needed in this class, Kobe Smith, who committed to Mark Stoops today. Kirk is about 1-15 going head-to-head against Stoops in the past few years. I have to deal with KY fans laughing at our recruiting...worst of all they're right. Damn I wish we had some coaches who understood recruiting in 2015! Since we got our new recruiting coordinator, recruiting has gotten worse! Pathetic.

Before you say what has Stoops done on the field, remember this is his 3rd year of rebuilding a program that used to recruit like we do now.....primarily against MAC teams. We'll see what happens.

Kentucky is clearly going to win a national championship in Mark Stoops' tenure. Moreover, they will at some point have something, anything to do with Iowa football other than recruiting and the fact that Mark Stoops played at Iowa.

Iowa isn't going to have much success in the state of Georgia with high 3 or 4 star talent. The SEC and ACC own that state and it's not going to change anytime soon.

Voice of reality my friend. You can't tell me that Mark Stoops hasn't destroyed Iowa recruiting over the past three years. Not saying they are going to win the national championship soon, just a statement on how poor our recruiting had been.

Do you think if Mark Stoops was at Iowa that recruits would be flocking to Iowa City? It takes more than a coach in the ear of players to get them to start flocking in. It takes nice cars, cash and promise of jobs for parents and relatives. That's how it worked in the 80s and I doubt it's been cleaned up much since then. Quite the contrary I am guessing.

Drive to Eugene, Oregon sometime and check out the cars? They are not what you would expect from kids that can't afford cheeseburgers ala Shabbaz Nappier who OBTW happened to have an estimated 5,000 dollars worth of tattoos on his body. LOL!

I do know for a fact that we would have had one of the big recruiting misses a few years back if we'd met his family's cash demands. Ken O'Keefe told him "that's not the way we do things here". So he played in the SEC And no....I won't name the player.

Stoops made a smart decision when he hired Vince Marrow as his TE coach. Made a smarter decision when he got him a raise when Michigan/Harbaugh came calling this past offseason. Marrow is responsible for their efforts in Ohio recently. He isn't getting kids away from OSU or other elite tier teams, but he is helping the Wildcats gain a higher level of player from Ohio than they had previously been able to obtain.

Marrow is responsible for 35 players committing to KY in the 2013-2017 classes. 33 of them are from Ohio. Avg star ranking is around the 3.3-3.5 mark. 13 of KY's current 2016 verbals were recruited by Marrow.

Vince Marrow is their stud recruiter. Doesn't have anything to do with Stoops. Marrow was hired by Nebraska as a GA when he was a HS coach in Ohio by Bo Pelini and was the TE's coach at Neb.

Shows you how big of a dumb ass Bo Pelini is. Marrow was our best recruiter and instead of getting rid of dead weight, he stays loyal to this dead weight, doesn't hire Marrow full-time, so Marrow packs his bags and goes to Kentucky where he continues to kill it in recruiting.

This has more to do with Marrow being one of the best recruiters in the country than it does with Iowa or Kirk Ferentz.
