Well this goes to show Nebraska has who they want. Someone that is willing to look the other way to win at all costs.

Naturally of course, Nebraska fans are already coming to the defense saying this is nothing.

“The environment within Athletics … did not support a culture of compliance or fiscal responsibility,” according to the audit, which was completed in mid-April.

I could be in the minority but that article does not appear to disclose any major violations. Improper distribution of complimentary game tickets and inflation of attendance numbers hardly qualifies as a scandal. Bad judgment perhaps but nothing serious.

Unless there is more to the story, these findings certainly won't have any impact on Moos' tenure at Nebraska. In fact, he fits in with Nebraska's culture. Huskers are going to continue to announce sell outs whether or not they fill the stadium.

Fiscal responsibility is an important core aspect of the AD position. However, the article indicates that the department's fiscal deficits are closely related to recent athletic facility improvements. The article does not present any findings or allegations of misconduct by Moos in his oversight of spending on the projects.

Haha, I was going to say, Debraska has been guilty of that for 15 years! No wonder ol' Bill fits in so well!

I don't think anyone implied any major violations.

I decided to read the entire article based on this statement:

Apparently "winning at all costs" - which reasonably implies major NCAA infractions - means giving away free tickets, discounted tickets for athletic staff members, and reporting home attendance as sellouts when the scanned tickets at the gate were less than seating capacity.

I wouldn't want to defend Moos. It sounds like he was loose with ethics training. However,, best I can tell, he was on a mission to get people into empty seats at football games and nearly all of the audit irregularities point to where he was overly aggressive in doing so. I don't consider that "winning at all costs".
