Great article on a great kid. I'm really rooting for him to find a good landing place next year, somewhere he can contribute on the court. Could definitely see a potential future in coaching... and if that pic isn't pure gold, then I don't know what is!

Ditto but he’s too small and Drake is likely bringing back of most of their guys this year. My guess is he ends up at a D2 or low major like Riley Till did.

At AAU tournament he and Trae Young met in finals of 3 point contest.... Ash won.

Drake may be too good of a team for him to get decent minutes I heard there is another team half an hour to the north that could use some help though, plus they love transfers. He could challenge for starters minutes there.


Austin needs to get that picture framed and hung up in his house when his playing career is over. It is awesome.

I just remember how Brady Ellingson couldn't get his shot off in the Big 10, but went to Drake and was 2nd team all MVC. You never know. I would have to think Ash would be better off at a lesser school than that though.

Great article, and some well-deserved accolades for a solid Hawkeye. Not everyone has to be a starter or even on scholarship to contribute to a team's success. I hope he's able to land at a nice mid-major to continue his career.

The bench is like that every time he gets a shot up...

I feel like he shoots like 75% from 3. I'm sure it isn't that high, but it's impressive that he can sit on the bench for 38mins of game time and come in and drill shots.

Yep, and Ellingson was a recruited scholarship athlete. Hope Austin Ash realizes his dream somewhere.
