has jan failed in her development. She is bettr in every position then O Grady. She moves so much better than OGrady. Just hate it when seniority prevails over talent. She should get 10 to 15 minutes a game. O Grady has hands of stone and is a liability on defense. She looks like she is playing in mud the way she moves. O Grady has a nice shot when she gets the ball at 10 ft if she can hold on to it.

Its a tough call.
Had Hannah developed at her natural position at the 4 Ava would have gotten considerably more time.
As it stands she is our 3rd post and the minutes are meager.

Next year will be a revelation and yes, people will ask, why didn't we see more of her last season.

Good thing this hasn’t been talked about anywhere else.

She has far more talent but still needs development. Hannah is the sand in the gears. She's good at 5 but we need her at 4 to make the front line complete, and that would have allowed Ava opportunities. Next year with Hayes, Hannah and Ava it will be interesting.

There a no pro-opportunities for a 6'2" center in the WNBA. She has to develop forward skills.

Maybe overseas.

There when Hannah was sent to the bench, Eva came in and hit for four points and could’ve been six points. It was that close in a short time with some nice moves. Get her more minutes Jan please.
She played a big part in stopping Michigans momentum. She gave us some great minutes especially considering how little playing time she's had recently. Happy for her and the team. What a great game they played.

I don't know if JJ has failed in developing AH, but I think she has definitely slowed her progress down. I have questioned the AOG choice all year and do not understand what JJ is seeing in AOG. JMO

You should go listen to Kachine Alexander, very much agreed that Jan was right in playing her yesterday even to the point of I think she might’ve even said it’s about time. She’s also been extremely candid about what Ava isn’t great at….

I think she believes Jan is a good coach too by the way so there’s that🤷‍♂️

PS…Kachine also explained what she sees in Addie versus what Addie doesn’t bring to the table as well. It’s called reasonable fair minded observation. It’s also why you have more than one basketball player on the team or rather five.

Michigan and UCLA were two completely different games. Ava has played well against mobile posts while Addy has struggled. OGrady plays better against bigger, stronger posts where Ava had less success. It was posted somewhere that Jan prepared Ava for more playing time due to Michigans smaller lineup.

Ava is great and I would love to see more minutes out of her but AOG is essentially leading the nation in FG%, she's a very efficient player in the post for us offensively and she has a decent mid-range shooting ability to go with it.

Sure I would love to see a better ability to use her hands receiving the ball while posting up and less TOs and some toughness out of her. The players feeding her in the post have put her into tough positions as well trying to force things when it isn't there. I'm really glad we have both of them on the roster

Ogrady can surprise. She is solid and can come from nowhere to put points on the board.

We can’t have this…no reasoned perspectives on here.

Here’s the thing about Addie. I’m not what you would call a fan per se. I don’t question her desire, but she’s not fiery. She’s very slow footed she often times plays timid. But the reality is, she’s played some big ass minutes and made some big ass shots for us and she is a big body that does seem to work better against other “big” bodies….nit mobile athletic bodies, but definitely big bodies

I really don’t understand why message board fans struggle, so mightily with who they think ought to be playing. It really is baffling to me.

Ava is going to shine next year!

If our fans don’t talk her into transfer….doh!!!
But on a serious note, as I said in another thread, I believe Ava is the future of the post ms in our program. She is more of a facing the basket, kind of 5 with the ability to post up. I also believe she is what Jan wants from the position moving forward but that doesn’t mean she’s been what we have needed all year.
