Jackson will be #2 at 184..Undefeated in B1G competition..the fight is for 3..not sure how that will play out.

As far as 174..did Brunson beat Meyer in dual or tourney? If dual, I think they will go Hall 2 Brunson 3 and Meyer 4 since 3 way triangle. If Brunson beat Meyer in a tourney I think it will be Meyer 2, Hall 3 and Brunson 4

Who is Lewis at 157? I don't recall a Lewis? Studebaker will be ahead of MM at 197. 174 will be Jorda, Meyer, Hall, Brunson
184 will be Bo, Jackson and I don't have a clue how they will do 3/4/5

But Meyer lost to BoJo and Amine in Big 10s. He and Amine both 7-2 in Big 10 duals, Brunson, 8-1, Hall, 5-1 and BoJo 5-0.

Rutgers kid Richie Lewis but he's hurt for the year

Then forget what I was thinking..lol..didn't realize Meyers lost to Amine.

If Meyer and Brooks fall to #4, that is bad place for Hawks, makes for bad SF matchups. Where do you think we get seeded at 141 and 165? Need to stay away from 8/9 spots or do they only do top 4 at B1G? I forget how deep they seed now with 14 teams

133 how is Zane at 2? It's NATO 1 Clark/Montoya 2 Montoya/Clark 3 Richards 4 Micic 5

Depends on how many auto-bids they get. If it is 7 or fewer, then they seed to 8, if it's 8 or more, they seed to however many bids + 1

Jackson hasn't wrestled nichols, martin, dudley, or brooks in regular big ten duels. He is 1 and 1 with brooks at the midlands. Winning the first match 3-1 and losing the second 10-5. Jackson also lost to dudley at the midlands. Based on head to head and who he has wrestled don't see him getting the number two seed.

As silly as this may sound, I'm ok if Brooks gets #4 seed. I REALLY want to see him wrestle Nickal again. Could obviously happen if he gets the #2 or #3 seed, but the chance of him getting upset is higher. As the #4 seed, I don't see any real chance of him being upset before the semis. I think a pumped up Sammy can wrestle Bo well. Hopefully he'll get another shot.

A perfect place to wrestle him again is in the big ten finals. Far as i am concerned its more about winning than it is about making sure the fans are entertained.

Rack it out:
  • Jackson is 9-0 in the B1G, and split with Brooks at Midlands, also lost to Dudley at Midlands.
  • Brooks is 7-1 in the B1G with a win over Martin, split with Jackson at Midlands, and ducked Jackson at the Indiana dual
  • Martin is 7-2 in the B1G, with a loss to Brooks and a win over Dudley
  • Dudley is 5-2 in the B1G, with a loss to Martin, ducked Brooks in the Iowa dual, and beat Jackson at Midlands
Jackson is undefeated in B1G dual meets, and has a win over Brooks. You can't penalize him for not facing the other top guys in the weight class in B1G dual meets. He gets the #2 seed, Brooks gets #3, Martin #4, and Dudley #5. Parker (Illinois) is probably #6, and Gravina (Rutgers) gets #7.

That actually works out pretty well for Brooks.

I'm with you...based on losses to Sammy and Dudley, and the fact that he didn't wrestle and of the other B10 foes ranked ahead of him, I can't imagine him getting the 2 seed. I'm not as intelligent on these matters as many of the posters on the site, so I could be wrong, but I don't think so on this one. I think Jackson gets the 4 seed behind Bo, Brooks and Dudley...

I see Meyer as the 4 seed, and potentially the 5 seed. Just don't see him getting a better seed than 4.

i might be wrong, but i would rather he get bojo in the semis than hall.i am afraid hall is primed for a martin type of run.

141 is an interesting weight. Ashnault is ranked at #5 and then there's Gulibon, Thorn, McCrystal, Pletcher, and Carton all bunched together between 10-16ish. Carton has a legit chance to make the finals if he's seeded #2, #3, or #6.

Not sure how bad Suriano's ankle ended up being. Didn't look good. I wonder if he wrestles just enough to qualify the weight and then defaults out. If he goes, Lambert is certainly capable of upsetting a banged up Suriano.

Studebaker will be seeded above McCutcheon at 197. They both lost to Pfarr and Moore and Studebaker won the head to head.

Ugh, let's hope they meet in the finals and call it a really good career.

When do the actual seeds/brackets come out for the big ten tourney?
The pre seeds came out the Monday before the tournament last year so that would be this Monday, Feb 27. The brackets usually came out the day before which would be next Friday, Mar 3.

The automatic qualifier list should come out this Thursday or Friday so we will know how many AQ spots at each weight by conference.
