This would be my hope for the Hawks, but BK is the 7 currently.

Don’t the top two seeds get a bye since there are 14 wrestlers in a bracket of 16? How do advancement points work for 1 and 2, only if they win?

only if the win the match after the bye will the get 1 adv point.

same for the 7/8/9/10 seeds on the bottom..they have to win the match after the bye to get the .5 adv point.

i'll have the interactive bracket up in a few minutes after this call

Why did Nelson wrestle or even come back? We wasted an entire year to not have Gabe at 74 and Angelo at 84. This is incredibly stupid

Wish Kueter would've got the 6 but he'll have some good all-american type tests in the wrestlebacks to have a chance at a higher NCAA seed than B10 seed, up to him to get it done.

I think Schriever can steal a spot, 6 and 7 seeds are not unbeatable if he can actually finish his shots.

Gabe-Starocci possible semifinal to finally get them on the mat together and see what happens.

I don't mind Teemer at the 4, if healthy he can beat Miller and is probably the favorite between them.

PK needs to win that 4/5 match or he probably won't be seeded high enough to all-American. Would love to see him at least get 3rd and jump back into that 8/9 seed.

LMFAO....What an incredibly dense take. Why would an AA come back after losing a year to the gambling fiasco only to get injured??? Is that really your question? I am not one for banning someone, but if this was said 100% serious you deserve a time out to really think about the person you are....lolololol

Selfishly I want Angelo on the mat full-time next year, when he has a chance to potentially be a 4x champ.

Could he have done it this year? Never say never but with a 4x and a 3-3-2-1 guy in the way, not likely.

149 is one that could be argued quite vehemently against...
I don't think you could argue "vehemently" for any of the three top seeds. There is very little separation between them and obviously they split all the H2H's. If you're arguing vehemently for Parco over SVN when SVN majored him and was on the doorstep of a tech, you need to put down the kool aid.

Interesting stat: Iowa has never had a 197lb B1G champ since the weight was introduced in 1999. Next longest droughts are 285 Blake Rasing in 2011 and 157 Derek St. John in 2012.

Damn, was hoping BK got the 6. Kerk in the quarters will be a tall hill to climb.
I think Ben can realistically finish 3rd. Feldman is a tough rematch for sure. Heinselman is good obviously, but Keuter struggles with guys with guys that have a significant size advantage and he and Ben are similar in weight. I think Ben has improved since his loss to Luffman and he and the Rutgers kid are fairly evenly matched. Tough weight for sure, I mean 3-9 are all pretty close ability wise.

Question, if the B1G gets 10 heavyweights, do they wrestle out to 10th place?
Yes - for any weight with 8 or more allocations, they will wrestle a "mini tournament" for 9th place, typically on Sunday between the consolation semifinals and the finals/placement matches. This mini tournament will not count for team points but is used for qualification purposes.

I believe they will actually wrestle an 11th place match as well for Heavyweight (or any weight with 10 allocations), as a criteria that is looked at for at large selections is if you place one spot away from AQ. I could be wrong on this part though.

Just another opportunity for a fan to think he knows more than the coaches. You might have overreacted here just a bit yourself.

So you have zero issues with wasting a year of everyone’s time. Seems like between you and me I have the only functional brain.

Well if you are capable of seeing into the future and predicting that NB was going to get hurt after Gabe made the way to 184 then you are far too enlightened to be wasting your time on this Board. Also, what makes you so sure Gabe was going to beat PK for the 174 spot if NB was not in the cards?

Do you know who you’re talking to? Careful what you wish for buddy. You might be in for the most trivial back and forth of your life.

Bummer that SVN gets the win in the 149 seeding conundrum, though not unexpected.

Not at all what I was saying buttercup. Lovett beat Van Ness soundly and was put at 3. The fact that a beat b, b beat c and c beat a pretty much qualifies “vehement” arguments. But, feel free to chime in on a rival message board!

Sorry, but from my highly enlightened position, that comment may have been the dumbest I have ever read on here and this is THE cesspool to put that into perspective…

SVN and Parco both lost by major dec
Lovett lost by 1pt

That’s the difference.

But I’m sure Brands was more than fine with that order as it’s a favorable matchup for IA.

I really like our guy at 97!! And I think our guy at 57 is pretty darn good as well! If our fellas show up and do what they're capable of doing we should have a great weekend! :)

lol thanks for proving my point

Yeah man it's crazy they didn't know Nelson was going to get injured, and that Gabe was forced to 184 at gunpoint. Be better, Iowa.
Is Nelson healthy? Why is he not wrestling the post season? The coaches missed a big opportunity
