B1G West vs. B1G East.

Pathetic West is 7-6 vs. the mighty East with only Purdue vs. Indiana left.

West has the best non-conference win, that's for sure. Maybe only 2nd to Clemson over ND in the entire country.

uhhhhh.... you guys don't actually think the West is as good as the East do you? I'm not one for arguing divisions in a conference, but besides Iowa, there is not a single team on the West that could hold their own playing the top 15-20 in the country. And even then, Iowa certainly hasn't solidified their argument they could. Their are alot of shitty teams in the B1G, about 5-6 of them... and they are evenly distributed between the two sides. But the top of the conference is not even in question, it is heavily on the East. Correct me if I'm wrong but the West is 2-6 against the top 4 in the East, that doesn't sound like the West has proven they are better or even...

Michigan state got exposed and Minnesota held their own against Michigan. Outside of OSU they have nothing

You know how you know you're on the losing side of an argument? You have to make up your own stats because the one that actually would prove your point says you are wrong.

If took Minnesota's TE inexplicably dropping to his knees on the TD catch overturned and horrible clock management for mighty Michigan to beat Minnesota.

First game doesn't count. Only the second game through now and last year's bowl games count.
Don't forget that losses to Texas don't count either, at least in years when Texas is terrible. Oklahoma being hyped up big time now.

There have been a lot of close games in the B1G this year, so I'd say it's tough to say which division is better, but easy to say that the conference itself is extremely tough....

when the entire country BESIDES the lone state of Iowa sees Iowa for what they are really worth, then you know you're one the losing side of the argument. You stated you're better than the East, how do you prove that? you beat the best teams in the East, have you? no, you're 2-6. ok, check.

what stats in the argument would prove mine (and the entire U.S.) are wrong?

I don't know which thread you are following but I said no such thing. You're the one trying to make the argument that the division that has lost more games is actually a better division. By the way, those same people thought Baylor should be ahead of Iowa. hmmm.....

look, congrats, you have an inflated ego because you're 10-0 for the first time in history (OSU has down that SIX times in the last 14 YEARS btw). I get it, you think you've finally done it. But when you get to this level when everything you do is scrutinized, you have to learn to really open your mind and look at things unbalanced. little "points" about how Baylor this and that ahead of Iowa, uhhh... yeah! Baylor just lost, and EVERYONE in the country would take Baylor over Iowa next week. They are the better team, even with their backup in. It's called reasoning and critical thinking. Congrats on being 7-6 (mostly against non bowl teams), which you use to prop up your argument that you're better than the East. Sure, ok. Our top teams have also beaten your bottom teams as well, but you cant base an argument off that can you? so how does the West's best claim to be better than the East until you prove against the BEST teams in the East that you're better?? That 7-6 number? That's like claiming you defeated the Axis Powers when you actually fought in Italy, when we all know Germany and Japan were the big boys that had to be taken down.

The entire country, besides the playoff selection committee, you mean?

I seriously don't get this guy's point. So in his eyes, the B1G East is better than the B1G West, but only if you look at a certain number of teams in the East? And discount that undefeated MSU lost to possibly the worst team in the West? What's going on here?

Tell Michigan State that Nebraska says hello.

The fact the only game between the top 3 teams in each division makes it hard to compare. Northwestern v Michigan. East might be better across the top but west is deeper.

When facts don't work for your argument, use an opinion! /s

Oh Jesus, I forgot I'm dealing with a state that half of you think Trump or Carson would be a worthy president... The argument is simple. The East has been better for multiple years now. You've beaten our sides shitty teams, we've beaten your sides shitty teams. But your good teams, have yet to prove they can beat the Easts best teams. Not in one singular setting that you then use to prop up an argument. Nebraska beats MSU by 1 point, oh boy... our fallacy sticks... but an even better or more pertinent argument would be showing that Michigan (#3 East) beat Northwestern (tied #2 East) 38-0. That shows the consistent difference between the sides. Regardless, it will likely end up being 7-7 with Indiana (who Iowa only could beat by 7) playing Purdue.

At the end of it all, guess who decides it? Iowa and OSU. And I really hope you all show up for that game. Even though I know you won't, as we are the best traveling fanbase in the country and you guys, well... aren't. You will then see what playing a real team looks like.

OSU 45 - Iowa 13

Oh cool previous years' results are super-relevant. Just ask Tennessee.

Never thought I'd see the day an OSU fan is relying on Michigan to back their cause. A UM team that beat a mediocre NW team by about the same margin as Iowa but needed overtime to finish off Indiana. A Michigan team that literally starts Iowa's sloppy seconds at it's most important position.

But I guess you have to rely on your division mates for smack talk when you have yet to play anyone with a pulse.

Serious question- why are you so sad?

Yes, tOSU will likely beat Iowa, but to say Iowa fans don't travel is one of the most ignorant things I've ever seen on this message board.

I'm sure everyone in the country would have taken LSU over Arkansas and Stanford over Oregon but ... games are played on the field and right now Iowa is 10-0 just like Ohio State. As far as East versus West, looks pretty even, especially when you consider the top two teams in each division (Iowa, UW, MSU, and OSU) didn't play head to head this year. MSU lost to Nebraska, NW got waxed by Michigan (and Iowa, too, so what does that prove?), NW beat Penn State, ... let's face it, the best teams in each league didn't go had-to-head in the regular season. OSU looks like the best team overall but the good news is that we'll find out in the B10CG if Ohio State can get by the other two decent teams in the east. I'm looking forward to it. Hey, the good news is that next week Ohio State gets to play against its first ranked opponent this year! Huzzah!

No, Iowa beat Indiana by 8 after IU scored a late meaningless TD. You were probably thinking of Ohio State -- they only beat IU by 7. Nice try, Suckeye. If Iowa and OSU swapped QBs I would be terrified of being beaten by 50. Fortunately, we have Beatherd and you don't. If OSU DID have Beatherd with the ridiculous talent at WR? I'd have Ohio State #1 overall and #2 wouldn't be close. Seriously, why is it that Ohio State can't recruit an NFL-caliber QB? Don't get me wrong, Barrett is an amazing RB/WR, but QB? I don't know what OSU is going to do if they fall more than a score behind anyone this year. Your defense, though, I give all the credit in the world. That's a fierce defense.

I really don't have a dog in this fight but, Rudock has proven himself to Mi and Harbaugh as a quality qb. CJ is your man, got that but, let's not disparage Rudock. It's not fair to Jake or CJ.

OSU "ONLY" beat Indiana by 7......(oh yeah, Iowa beat them by 8 - guess you're using new math)

Who has OSU even played??? Hawaii? Best win is probably PSU. They will problably get by MSU next week - but only because MSU really has shown they are NOT in any way a balanced team. Yeah, overall the East is probably better than the West - but only marginally so. Iowa v OSU using their respective best performances so far this year? Iowa 27, OSU 17
