didnt matter, but the backwards pass call on the first drive was a total wtf call. Couldn’t see it real well at the game, but watching it on the dvr, can’t understand what the hell the refs are looking at.

Yep. I was at the game with bad angle, and could tell it was clearly a forward pass. Came home and watched on DVR, thinking maybe I was wrong...I was not. Not sure how they screwed that one up so badly.

Not even close to a backwards pass. The pass went two yards forward even with the wind pushing back some.

How that was missed and then not reviewed is amazing.

Ok, probably wrong here .. but I thought the announcers called it a backwards pass, but the refs put the ball back at the original LOS. No?

The PA at the game certainly called it an incomplete pass. Not sure about the ESPN guys.

It was spotted as a two yard loss though.

Rewatched it: Iowa ball on their own 43 and a half- center of the field. After the play: Iowa moved to their own 41 and the ball moved to the left hash.

Stanley releases the ball just shy of the of 39 yd line. The ball hits Easley on or just shy of the 40 yd line. Easley covers up the ball on the 41.

Heads up play by Easley jumping on it, even though it was clearly a forward pass.
