I think Fran should balance his classes. I would like to see him Bank the Shellie. He has four in this class, lets focus on a big and a point in next year's class.

I hate banking scholarships, the goal is to win now, so go find someone who can make us better now. if we had 2 open ships and cant even bring in one new guy, that would be disappointing.
Depends on who he can get in my opinion. If Fran can find a legit PG (grad transfer, juco, or high school), I am all for offering. I don't think falling back to the bottom third of the conference in the upcoming season benefits future recruiting. Fran can essentially advertise a starting PG spot and not many teams have that much PT available. I like Williams' game, but I think he is better served as a 2 than 1.
who is this better player that will make IA BETTER NOW? that is being recruited, as for next season Connor is supposed to be the PG, from people who have seen him he is in the mold of Horner the IA all time assist leader with over 600 assists,
his BB IQ is very High and his Father Fran was a very good PG. to me banking the ride is not a bad idea, do not see any real difference makers left out there, the 2017 class is loaded as the majority of those kids have not committed.
Fran is recruiting 5* SG Trent out of Minnesota, pair him with 4* Connor and you have a very good back court.
my wish that the 2017 class would be filled with top 40 6'11 F/C Williams who has range to 3, these type of bigs are what Fran is looking for.
Uthoff was 6'9 but was a outside player who got most of his blocks on the backside defense and perimeter shooters.
Dr. Tom had players like 6'11 Koch, 6'10 Bullard and he even turned 7'1 Lohaus into a 3 point shooter, having a player that tall that can shoot 3' is a nightmare matchup.

Grad PG first, but otherwise I tend to agree with the OP. Another freshman will just mean another huge freshmen class. Would like to get some balance there. There are no more game changer incoming freshmen on the market it seems.
hoping that Jones is fully healthy so that Pemsyl can RS to get his knee back to 100%, unless Pemsyl is at the point where can take minutes from Uhl and Baer. he could use a RS and that would also break the classes up.

I don't care one way or another what Fran does with it, I just want him to get the best players he can. If he can get a grad transfer PG or wing that is immediately available, that would be best case scenario. If he can get a quality incoming FR PG or wing, by quality I really mean, better than whatever combination he could bring in next year's class, then do it. If he's looking at getting a commitment from a Top 25 recruit but will lose the scholarship available by bringing in a Fr who won't help as much this year or in the future, I'd prefer he bank it.

how many teams carry 13 4* or better players on their roster at one time, very very very few. not even Kansas or ISU does. SST you are being unreasonable with your expectation of what you want Fran to do.

I think you either get an impact multiple year guy or best available single year grad transfer. There is no downside to signing a 1 year guy.

Fran is trying to improve the roster with his last scholarship and he thinks Vitale will help the team. I would assume a graduate transfer Point Guard would be his top priority but I don't know exactly what he's looking for

has for my coaching it was as a assistant on a AAU team and Coaching in TX. sorry but I do think I know more than some of you and will defer to Fran and his ability to judge Talent over 99.9% of the posters on this site.

I guess the height vary by sites Kriener is a 6'10 F/C, Cook is a 6'9 F the other are the same. and you are right about the 2016 class on there being 5 players in it.

having 9 under classmen and adding a 10th is something I thinkFran would try to avoid getting a grad transferr makes more sense that any Freshman unless Fran can find a 5* 1 n Done instant impact player, don't see any out there for Fran to recruit.

If Fran can even find a one year rental PG that can run the point and even slightly increase the open looks for our shooters and younger guys it is a must for the team to bring him in. We have a team full of guys that struggle to create open looks for themselves mixed with a bunch of guys that will be learning how to do that. A PG that can create some of that even a little bit is a need for this team.
